Notable Releases - DC/NOVA/MD

Yea, I'm definitely getting there before they open. It was so awesome popping in there at 11:15am and being one of two people in there. I knew it wouldn't last long. The last time I was in there, I talked to a dude that drove up from NC just to go to Aslin.

 

I was there last Saturday, a few minutes before open and there wasn't a line. A handful of people waiting in cars, but no line.

 

Is there anywhere to consistently get double duckpin in Alexandria (more towards old town) or do I have to go to the other side at total wine? or is it also not really consistently available.. I'm not sure how limited the release is on that. thanks!

 

FWIW there's at least one beer store in DC that is still sitting on multiple multiple cases, so not sure the release is that limited (in DC at least).

 

they have made home 2x and more recently two lost souls...anything that is really good, will be brewed again. I'd expect to see planets align and talking backwards brewed again in the next 6 months.

 

Enjoy By IPA 7.4.16, Xolotl, and ReDANKulous have made appearances at Norms and Dominion, Dominion also has Hopsolution and Derecho Common, while Norms just got in a couple high-rating Gluten Free beer if that's your thing.

Looking forward to the Aslin releases tomorrow (Orange Starfish, Master of Karate) and next weekend (Double Orange Starfish). Sucks to miss the RAR release this weekend as well.

Yep. Got there at 11:45 and just left. Cool local brewery has turned into a line of pregnant neckbeards expanding their already bloated waistlines.

Yep, really glad I at least got to try the place a few times before the vultures that are the beer trading scene completed their descent. Good for their business though!

 

Maybe the Double Orange Starfish release will fare better at 1500 on a weekday.

 

Right now I'm totally enjoying my growler of Ocelot's People Everywhere IPA, acquired a few blocks away from my house at Dominion. I'm a fan of a lot of Aslin's beers, but at this moment there's no FOMO. #options

Hopefully Aslin can double the size of their brew system with all the money they made today. They have nice gear and know how to use it obviously, but if you've seen it in person you know they must be brewing like crazy to keep all those fermentors filled.

 

Wow. I stand corrected. I've never seen a brewery go from no line before open to 100 people in line before open in one week. And I used to live near Jester King.

 

Probably a dumb question, but since I just had some at the Sovereign, is there a bottle shop in the metro area that actually gets Cantillon Gueuze?

 

I haven't seen any outside bars for years now. The Rare Beer Club had an offer a few months back for regular Cantillon; it might be worth checking their site to see if any is still available.
