Sadly, I've decided I'll have to bow out for this round. I have a lot more to do than I originally thought to get ready for my big trip in a couple weeks, but I look forward to joining the next round. Assuming I survive the Icelandic Highlands, I'll fire up a LIF in late July so I can still send someone a nice box of beer. No doubt @sembo will represent as the only Minnesotan this round.
Just got back from all things Midwest and here's (most of) my haul: I'll start with beers from @Elkevjoe because I saw him early on in the trip and he destroyed my porch before I even got home... We met up at the Brew Kettle as mentioned in an earlier post. He dropped this on me and I had just a lowly crowler for him. Swag: Jackie O's koozy. Sweet! Jackie O's Oro Negro: Love this beer, very happy to have another. Thirsty Dog BA Siberian Night. Looking forward to this one! Sounds delicious. Maumee Bay Brewing Co. BA Total Eclipse Breakfast Stout: Haven't had anything from these guys, but this sounds awesome. Hoof Hearted Koffury Imperial Stout with Coffee: HH is awesome and I can't wait to try this one. After hanging at BK and enjoying Kevin and Renee's wonderful company, we somehow got on the topic of No Rules and then enjoyed more conversation and beers together and then this happened...... Swag: CCB Bag. This will absolutely come in handy in the future! Perrin No Rules: Tried at Imminent Liquidation and was hoping to trade for a bottle. The man just hands me one. WTF. Can't wait to share this. Also, gotta love The Big Lebowski and the awesome reference/artwork. Great Lakes Barrel Aged Blackout Stout: Really enjoyed Blackout Stout. Can't wait to give this one a try among other BAs. CCB Hunahpu: Love this beer. Can't believe I have another. JO's Vanilla and Coffee Bean Dark Apparition: Really enjoyed this one and look forward to enjoying it again. JO's BA Vanilla and Coffee Bean Dark Apparition: Along with the Cognac DA, which Kevin also opened when we were hanging, this has to be my favorite variant. JO's BA Black Maple: Tried this with @JNForsyth and really liked it. Looking forward to this again. Brew Kettle Jack Hammer Barleywine: BK is putting out some awesome beers. I expect this to be really tasty. JO's Oro Negro: As mentioned above, I really enjoyed this and now I have yet another. Kevin, I owe you at least one box if not more. Seriously, unreal. I love this community and never expect anything, but am continually blown away by the outrageous generosity and kindness people have. x2 6ers Brew Kettle White Rajah: Fantastic IPA. Will absolutely enjoy sharing these and enjoying a few myself. Bell's Hopsoulution DIPA: We certainly have good distro in Central PA for Bell's, but I haven't seen this one around yet. Three Floyds haul from the brewpub: Wigsplitter: Was fortunate enough to try this one a few weeks ago and definitely had to bring one home. Space Station Middle Finger: Looking forward to trying this pale. x2 Arctic Panzer Wolf: Had a long time ago and will be cracking one tonight. Yeehaw Fresh AF Alpha King (bottled 6/16): Already drank one. Awesome. At the end of our day in Chicago, we stopped at Binny's and picked up: Surly Furious: Had before, but it's been awhile and c'mon, how can you say no to Surly?! Surly Todd the Axe Man: You bet your bottom dollar I picked up a four pack of this bad boy. Pipeworks Ninja vs. Unicorn: Delicious. Already enjoyed one tonight. Pipeworks Close Encounter Stout: Not the freshest, but excited to try this. Pipeworks Cherry Truffle Abduction: Really enjoyed the Abductions I've tried before and looking forward this one also. 50/50 2015 Eclipse Aged in Woodford Reserve Barrels: Yes please. They had about 4 or 5 different Eclipses (multiple years and barrel types) on the shelf. I know they aren't cheap, but shoot I need to move to the Midwest. Our last stop of the trip to Jackie O's was fruitful and tasty. Happy to hook up some locals with some can action as well as fill up my fridge. Hop Ryot Rye: Got to try at the brewery and it was tasty. (case) Mystic Mama: Kevin sent this before and I really enjoyed it. x3 Oil of Aphrodite: Got to enjoy this at the Public House and it does not disappoint. x2 Brick Kiln Barleywine: Haven't had yet, but I expect this to be delicious x2 BA Brick Kiln Barleywine: See right above x2 BA Woodburner: Tried this at the Public House and it was awesome. Unfortunately, I had to step out of round 4. Just too much going on with new house expenses and kids summer camps. But, since I won an awesome box from @BartS , I'll do a ninja LIF to share some beers from by work trip up to MA. Nothing too hard. Just reply to this post with 'I'm in' and I'll collect all the names and throw them into a random selector. I'll close this down on Thursday with hopes of getting the box out Friday or Saturday (Monday the latest) to get it into the winner's hands by 4th of July. Enjoy iceland and the midnight sun ! Wife and I did our honeymoon there. We rented a car and drove around the island for two weeks. Trip of a lifetime.
