Missed it by probably 20 minutes. Got there about 11:45 and was probably 20-30 people behind the last wrist band.

Oh well, enjoying my 3rd pour right now in consolation. A Willie pizza from Stanleys should be ready soon

The Willie pizza is reason enough for going out there.

Elevated prices sure did make a difference.

To complainers: If it was your business you wouldn't be complaining about $44,000 in revenue in less than 24 hours (and that's not even including draft, other bottles or merch sales). Also, O&P blend #3 is great. Easily worth $20 per bottle.

Cheers to JK and more importantly their preservation of Texas Hill Country!

I know a $30 hypothetical would make a difference for some people but I really don't think it would make that big of a difference for most. Remember when Rare B1 came out for $40? At the time it sat around for awhile, now a days it wouldn't last 2 minutes.

Between the increase in popularity of craft beer consumption, trading and prices slowly creeping up with limited releases there's no telling how high of a price people are willing to pay. Just look at the secondary market, not that I believe everyone of those sales is legit but a good percentage of them are and it's insane.

Bottle limits obviously have a lot to do with it as well. It wouldn't surprise me if JK brewed half as much then they could easily increase by $5-10 and if it was some sort of new crazy hyped up beer with a low bottle count (think ManBearPig) they could go up even more.

I got there about 11:30 AM (later than I wanted), and would like to again applaud the JK staff for handling the release very well.

They carefully counted bottles and people, gave out wristbands, let people beyond a certain point know they were likely not getting bottles, started the line moving (quickly) before noon, and communicated things quite well. I was given one of the 10 extra wristbands but everyone in front bought two bottles (not surprising).

I missed out on O&P bottles today, but got it on draft as a delicious consolation. These releases might get more people coming with faster sell out, but the running of the releases has been great.
    Cheers!

But it's not their business and they're the consumer. They can complain all they want, they just don't have to buy it.

Looks like you owe the workers/volunteers an apology. They knew EXACTLY what was going on

@cfh64 Right, totally agree. Just insinuating that there are multiple ways of looking at the situatioion.

I think people also lose touch with the fact that we're sitting here debating about a $4 increase on a completely inessential and optional luxury item.

Yeah, sorry man, after I re-read that I realized it may have come across dickish. That wasn't my intention at all and it was too late to edit it, thanks for not taking it personal.

If JK can charge more, make more profits or whatever then good for them. They seem like pretty smart cats and I can only assume at least part of any additional profits go towards the brewery in some form or another which is better for all of us.

Ha, look at the ego on you! It's everyone, don't feel so special.

Sorry, that was wrong and I meant every word  I can definitely be a dick but I'm self admittedly not good at internet communication. I can see how a lot of what I "say" is easily misinterpreted. I'm much better at being an authentic asshole in person.

I was able to convince my lovely wife to take a break from exam study and come out with me on Friday so I was lucky to be able to obtain 4 bottles. Due to lines and time constraints, I missed out on draft pours but life goes on. JK really handled this release efficiently and professionally. I think the long hiatus between O&P batches and the general dearth of JK fruited 500 ml recently contributed to the early sell-out. I predict a 1 pp limit for the next fruited release but I know how JK likes to keep their inventory moving. Either way, we are lucky to have this brewery in our backyard.

Oh yea man, I'm up In DFW and I too was shocked when the remaining numbers were released as to the remaining amount- especially since I know for locals they have a bunch of people they take care of around the country when they can w these releases. Either way, good stuff, you def have 2 more than I do.
