tiredhandsbrewingTomorrow at 5:00pm at our @fermentaria, we will be releasing cans of Death Tripper and Negative Knuckle! Death Tripper is our Galaxy IPA (Extra IPA? Double IPA?). Brewed with oats and wheat. Hopped intensely with Galaxy and very gently with Simcoe for balance. 8.0% abv. Negative Knuckle is a riff on one of our favorite IPAs, Extra Knuckle. Rather than go all Mosaic on this batch we mixed it up with a whole lot of Motueka, Equinox, and Amarillo. 6.0% abv. Death Tripper is $18/four pack and Negative Knuckle is $16/ four pack. Our friends over at @fishgreaseind will be printing up some really badass Death Tripper shirts too! Allotments will be announced ASAP tomorrow! #dreambeer

Crap. I really want in on these. I expect, however, the place will be a mad house.

"I expect, however, the place will be a mad house."

Why should this release be different from the others?

    Cheers!

One of these days I want to go to a Tired Hands release but the madhouse thing just doesn't sound good.

I should clarify - a madhouse, where navigating the madhouse will be required to get any beer. Plenty of releases have lasted an hour or more after the crowd subsides. I don't think this will be one of those releases, unless the allotments are low.

Well there's not much point going to a release if you're not going to get the cans that are released.

Well, according to @kdb150 there are varying levels of insanity associated with each release. Based upon my readings the only advice that I can provide is that is one of the beers is a lager (e.g., Helles Other People) then it would seem to be reasonable that some of these canned beers would be available later in the evening so maybe you could avoid the lines then?

I was at Tired Hands (Fermentaria) on the evening of a can release but I was there at 8:00 pm. The bar area was nice and relaxed with just a few people there. I was able to park right in front of the entrance in the parking lot. It was 'interesting' to see that a number of people would come up and ask in a forlorn manner to friends: "Are there any cans for sale?". One of the beers released that day was ALien Church which seems to be one of the 'in demand' Tired Hands beers (but there seems to be a large number of brands that are in 'high demand').

    Best of luck!!

    Cheers!

Didn't one of the beers go behind the bar last week? They messed upped with the entire case allotment of hop hands, but the Hoi Polloi made it to the next day. The release before that was also not crazy with at least the Other Half collab being sold at the bar . That would tell me that besides milkshake releases things have gotten a little better.

It'll all depend on the limits and amount of cans they have. Both beers sound right up my alley and I'll buy some but I don't think either has much hype or name recognition so I think we have better chances of it lasting a few hours than Alien Church.

I've never had any Tired Hands beer but I'm not going to wait in line for hours nor am I going to lose any sleep about not getting anything. Maybe I'll just visit the place with the family to eat and try some beer on tap.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of these next can releases last into the evening simply due to the time of year. Also, I have yet to miss out on cans and I have left work at my normal time to head over (4:30ish, got there around 5:15) As long as you head over right after you get off work, you should be fine.

I would recommend that you visit. You can always buy growlers to go as well. They only fill Tired Hands logo growlers but they will exchange a growler you might own if you want to go that route.

    Cheers!

Assuming that you live nearby. A number of posters mention they live hours away.

    Cheers!

Phish is in town next Wed playing The Mann which is only a couple minutes away so that may make that release a little more crowded. Otherwise, I agree that the summer should be more relaxed.

Well...yea...the closer you live the better....I guess I was more speaking to people within the Philadelphia area.

And that is a fair viewpoint except that many of the folks who participate in these threads live outside the Philly area: New Jersey, New York, the middle of PA,...

Tired Hands is a 'cult' brewery with lots of interest outside of the immediate Philly area.

    Cheers!

I am one of those "interested" from outside the Philly area. The Fermentaria looks like a fun place to visit regardless of cans being available.

And the Cafe could be worth a visit as well; it is just a 5 minute walk. Check out the tap list of the two locations and decide whether a dual visit is in order.

A feature that I enjoy is that they provide small pours so it is possible to sample many beers without getting too inebriated.

    Cheers!
