Hoping a big storm and the power goes out and causes chaos for my own entertainment.

I enjoy that too. Of course, I also enjoy when my wife drives.

That is indeed a "winner" right there.

You must be a better negotiator since my wife never agrees to drive upfront. Having stated that she has driven us home on more than one occasion.:flushed:

    Cheers!

It is 25 miles from my door to Tired Hands' door. I'd assume that qualifies as "in the area".

Sadly, I work in the wrong direction and until 6pm. So a 5 o'clock release is usually going to be no bueno.

I work in Wilmington, Delaware. In the event I do attend a can release, usually once every 4-6 weeks, I leave the office at 3ish and plan to get there at 4ish. Same plan for each of the 8 releases I attended. The results have varied from being about 175 deep in line upon arrival for a Alien Church/Punge release in March to being about 20 deep last week for Hoi Polloi / Hop Hands (Both of which were delicious). Too many factors at play. I have noticed that releases that have followed a weekend event (Anniversary or Bottle Release) have been more manageable. I plan to see if this holds true next week.

How early must one arrive usually to gets cans? I'm going to be in Gettysburg today, I was planning on staying in Harrisburg tonight, but might make the 2 hour drive over and stay in Philly. If its hours of waiting I'll pass, if not I might give it a shot.

If you are in line by 4, you will get cans. Like another poster said, due to the Phish show this week, this could sell out quickly. There really is no official time, I am just going off my past experience - every time I have showed up by 4, I have gotten cans with plenty people behind me getting their full allotment as well - also the allotment will have an impact as well. If they reduce it to three 4pks of each per person, it will last much longer.

Yeah, getting there by 4 would mean getting cans at every past release so I think it's a safe time.

Last time I drove up for the American Youth/High Road release i got there around 3, got some food and beers inside, and got in line around 4:00 and was through the line with a full allotment by 5:15 or so. Probably could've waited longer and still gotten cans

Just come up and put a chair down and you are good to go. Or walk up 5 mins before they start selling and jump in with a friend or stranger that you talk up like a friend.

Phish and Tired Hands, perfect pairing.

3 4-pack limit of each beer
    130 cases of Death Tripper
    180 cases of Negative Knuckle

This should be a great, relatively painless, release. Hoi Polloi had 180 cases last week and a case limit and lasted until the next day so I'm optimistic. I'd guess people like IPA's and DIPA's more than session IPA's though.

Awesome job Tired Hands, maybe I'll be able to snag some after all!

I think that is safe to say.

I got a chance to drink a draft pint of Hoi Polloi last weekend at a local beer bar. I thought it was an OK beer but after finishing the pint I had zero interest in ordering a second pint.

In general I am not a fan of Session IPAs. Having stated that I think that Carton Boat Beer is excellent!! I wish I could buy a case of that beer.

    Cheers!

You could, depending on when you can get to the brewery and when they can it. Usually one case limit and it's available for at least a week.
