Has anyone had Oude by Ble or is this a first time beer? Thinking about making the trek down Thursday/Friday.

First time on it's own, but it's been used in blends before (Pulling Nails 3 and Tete de Cuvee at least).

I'm definitely going to be attempting to Trade for the Oude Du Ble. But it's going to kill my cellar. :slight_frown:

I'm guessing they made a ton of bottles given the advanced notice of the release

The longer the notice, the longer the line, the smaller the allotment. The number of people showing up to releases as of late have been getting bigger and bigger. I remember the BdF release with 2 1/2 hour notice the line was out by the semi trailers(if you've never been to a release, that is probably 4-500 people deep). I wouldn't be surprised if the limit was 1. Cory doesn't take chances when it comes to "everyone gets a bottle".

Granted it was a "white label", but the BdP release a month or so ago only had 2-300 people with 1+ week notice.

Side note, before the sales started for BdP and people didn't know that Fuzzy was the surprise extra at that release, I heard a guy respond to being asked if he was going to go back through the line with "For a white label, I don't even know why I'm here to begin with." I've never tried to Vader Force Choke someone so hard in my life.

It was obviously earlier in the year so maybe things are just getting crazier, but Noir du Fermier was a week's notice on a Friday and was still limit 3.

I would think 2-3. Pulling Nails and NduF were both 3pp with quite a bit of notice.

There will be a lot of people there. Anything they make with the word "oude" in it will draw a crowd.

Plus they are releasing Triple Barrel Derivation with kiwi, cinnamon and Snickers bars

A beer made by Side Project.

I am assuming this is a "old wheat saison".

No clue how accurate this is but the description on here states:
"Oude du Blé is the Barrel-Fermented and Barrel-Aged expression of our tart Missouri Wheat Saison, Saison du Blé.

Fermented in French Oak Chardonnay Barrels and then aged on the lees for more than a year before being naturally conditioned in the bottle, Oude du Blé showcases a refined vinous character, a nuanced Brett influence and the signature Side Project acidity from our local microflora that inhabit all of our wild beers."
