BA Dark Lord gathering Chicago

Todd sorry about my comment. Wasn't directed at you. Just seemed like a bunch of people all jumped on board after your original post and tried to take charge.

 

Maybe I can trade a battle priest, Cabra, and alpha klaus with plum for a Ba dark lord??? I mean, to me, this is a tasting. Not a way to take advantage and drink more than ones share and get wasted. I honestly was only expecting enough from each beer to have Like 2-3 sips from. I definitely want to attend and will do whatever it takes to make that happen, but there needs to be a definitive set of guidines so that it is very clear who can attend. For example, showing up with a Cabra and bring a friend obviously does not seem appropriate, but showing up with 3 Ba bottles of fff and bring a friend is at least a generous contribution and could warrant access for two

 

#1: $200 for (3) Three Floyd's BA beers that went for $30-$35 each?

#2: You're not only trying to get into a BA Dark Lord tasting without a BA Dark Lord, but you're trying to bring someone else along with you. That's usually not how it works. Standard procedure (IMO...also dependent on size/mindset of the group) would be you bringing a BA DL and sharing all of your pours with your GF/fwend/butt-mule/etc. From past experience, people who share BA Dark Lord(s) want an environment that allows for a decent-sized pour.

 

This is totally fair. Nobody wants a 1oz pour of their own $50 bottle. When some friends and I did the 2011 DL Voltron we limited the group to 10 and it worked out well.

Are all 8 BA DL variants going to be represented here? Is there a master list somewhere?

 

For this tasting, we only have bourbon DL and 06, 08-12 DL right now but are working on 07 DL

 

The tasting hosted by jefeld is pretty set for Sat the 29th at 7pm. BA DL a must to get in, and we are short 2 bottles:

2011 PvW DL (possibly)
2011 de Muerte DL

We also have a slew of other bottles being opened, though not the amazing regular DL lineup that Jegross has

Ya probably should clarify what the 9/22 tasting is since the thread was deleted. On 9/22 we are doing:

Dark lord vertical (currently 07-12, but can expand backwards if we find 04/06 or even a second 07).
Behemoth vertical (currently in search of 05/08/BA behemoth)
Other bottles (CBS, 1414, Kate, etc)

The only BA DL we have lined up is bourbon. If you have any of the following beers and want to join in on the 9/22 fun, send a bm to me or wsnich or Robbiemoy13:
-04 DL
-06 DL
-07 DL
-05 behemoth
-08 behemoth
-any BA DL or BA behemoth.

Currently have 8 people total and we are gonna cap it probably at 9/10 max.

07 DL taken care of. Now seeking 06 or 04 DL on that front; right now I am bringing the 06 but also have an 05 that I would crack if someone steps forward to help go all the way.

Curious who is bringing the '07. Met some BAs at Binnys today and one of them had an '07 and said he might contact you about trading it in or joining himself, but I cannot remember his name

BTW, here is where 9/22 is at for those interested. We have 8 total people. Right now we are doing 06-12 dark lord plus bourbon dark lord. Then we have, pending some helping from some BAs that contacted me, a full behemoth vertical!

We are willing to add up to one more person to round out event. We are seeking someone with an 04/06 dark lord (I'll bring my 05 instead of 06), a BA dark lord (preferably not bourbon but we won't say no to any BA DL) or a BA behemoth.

The game plan is hot Doug's at 1015 am, tasting at 1230 at Robbie's.
