New in Kentucky

I may be in the minority here but I found this years snake cake too sweet. Maybe it was a heavier vanilla flavor but I thought last years version was much better. Actually, I assume I am in the minority (oh well).

On another note, I've found a few Grimm beers at wine and market I haven't had one that let me down yet.

 

Nope. Last year, Cake was better than Barrel. This year, Barrel is better than Cake. They have seemed to dial back the vanilla this year after the first barrel was released, though.

 

I thought Apple Brandy Noir was retired, when I had it last year it was fantastic. Best Prairie beer they've made in my opinion. Sure beats Bomb!
Anyways, anyone seen any Dogfish Head Flesh and Blood here yet? I'm looking forward to that one.

 

I'll make some calls around about the Noir it should hit this week, judging by where it's already landed.

 

Next few weeks, most likely. But the Maple Bourbon Barrel Double Negative took about 4 months to get here, so who knows.

 

Didn't see it on the most recent Dauntless inventory list. Asked my rep as well. Probably not this week folks.

 

Oh, if any of you haven't grabbed one already, the Avery Callypgian is at Trappe maybe/still. Get it. Heard maybe ten cases hit the state, and it's the most drinkable fresh big beer they've produced. Vanilla and chocolate and smooth.

 

If only they left the coffee out

 

It's a 3.5% session pale. And it's awesome. Lots of flavor.


BTW, the Ethereal Xanthus is silly good. Should be bottles tomorrow, doubt they last through the weekend.

 

That sounds delightful. Bottles are only available at the brewery, I assume?

 

Yep. 2 per person, $15 each. I'm going back today for more.

 

I need to stop following this thread. Too many good things that I can't get yet.....

 

They should just change the name to "New in Lexington"

 

Any word on Prairie AB Noir showing up in KY? Not to sound like a broken record...just one of my favorites haha.
