Sale at Wholefoods. 2 cans of Fourpure Shape Shifter for 1.99 each, and 2 of Northern Monk New World IPA for 1.83 each. Great value.

All the Ks for me today on a journey from the sublime to the ridiculous (in reverse order) Kronenbourgs followed by a solitary KBS. If only I had the volumes of the former in relation to the latter....

    Tyskie: For the Euros.
Fix Hellas: To celebrate England's win in Melbourne which is pretty much a Greek city.
    Duvel: Belgium won.
Finished up with a Warsteiner Braumeister Special.

Nice to try the Northern Monk New World and Fourpure Shape Shifter one after the other. New World is more simple and closer to a classic west coast with intensely dry bitterness brought to you by some resinous hops. Shape Shifter on the other hand, seems to fit into the East Coast style more, being softer, fruitier with more being brought from the hops than the bitterness. Definitely prefer the Shape Shifter, and if it was any other brewery you'd be paying 50-100% more so I'm filling my boots tomorrow.

Yeah, I was actually taken aback by how good Shape Shifter is, as I don't remember any other Fourpure beer hitting the same heights.

    Wild Beer Pogo
Arbor I speak for the Trees
    Wiper and True Blossom 2
    Setka Viking Pils
    Artezan Mera IPA
    Podroze Kormorana Coffee Stout

Standout Artezan Mera IPA, a lovely hopped up APA and another Polish brewery to watch. Setka, a nice peated pils and the last ale no need to reach for the percolator.

This Gulden Draak that came in the Lidl Belgian box is damn good stuff!

So glad I picked up a further 3 packs!

Had Beavertown Bloody Notorious on tap at Draft House Old St. Lots of citrus and very easy to drink. Currently drinking BBNo 07|07 Witbier Orange. Pleasant and subtle citrus flavour. I'm heading to Craft Beer Covent Garden on Saturday where Electric Bear from Bristol are taking over. I really enjoyed their Cherry Blackout and I see they currently have a nice looking porter and DIPA. Hoping for those.

It's a Marmite of a beer, that one. Certainly has its fans, but I found it so revolting that for a long time I couldn't drink anything even slightly phenolic.

Many quads seem to be. Still can't summon up the courage to give St Bernadus abt 12 or Rochfort 8 another go. I'll maybe give it another 6 years.

Yeah, a bit sickly. I find the quads a bit rough and alcoholic tasting. Give me an impy stout any day.

I liked both Gulden Draak's in the pack, especially the 9000, but like you, would rather have an Imperial Stout anyday.

Normal Gulden Draak is one of my favourite beers in the whole world, I bought a four pack of the 9000 in Belgium a couple of years ago but didn't really like the bottle I drank. To me it tasted of brandy thinned out with water. I've still got 3 bottles left on the shelf and I'm hopeful that age will have mellowed them. I don't particularly want too drink them in the summer though.

Went down to vote and my polling station is across the road from my local ex-'Spoons. Popped in for a pint and they had Adnams Ghost Ship on, very nice hoppy ale and £2.10 a pint, met a couple of pals so had 3.

That's a shame, I've bought Gulden Draak in Glasgow, Edinburgh & Brussels and never had a bad bottle.

Yeah, that Gulden Draak is a real divider. People seem to either really love it or really hate it, ergo Marmite!

Thornbridge Bayern - a pretty darn fine Pils. By the way, has anyone here tried cask lager? A new microbar in Peterborough was serving it the other day. Wish I tried it.
