Kern River Brewing Co.

Yea. Don't go by their website or FB page. I don't thin in hey have a system set up to check what's on draft. After all they are out in the middle of Kernville. I usually rely on people or Kyle posting on here. And that is rare. Hopefully they will have some kind a system to check what's on tap and what's available for growler fills with the new backyard.

 

I know this sounds dumb, but is Kern's Winter Ale seeing a longer brewing season? Seeing it still popping up in local shops around town. Bought one and drank it last night. Really didn't taste especially old, but not necessarily super fresh.

 

I would be a little surprised if it's a recent batch. I was up at the brewery Sunday and Tuesday, it was not on tap or available in bottles, nor did I see bottles at any of the local stores.

Also, Long Swim is phenomenal!

 

Will Kern fill other breweries growlers?

 

No.
Unless they changed their policy lately.
Call them.

 

Great time at the new Backyard on Sunday. Got a tour of the set up and sat on the patio looking out onto the southern Sierra for hours drinking Shuttle Bunny, Citra, Long Swim and Hop Nookie. Didn't make it to Class V or X before calling it a night. Congrats Kern on 10 years!

 

Heading up to the brewery this weekend for a bachelor party in Kernville. Hoping they MAY still have Citra on?? Anyone have an update on it?

 

Just arrived at a very hot Kernville. 96F+?
So nice to have a pint of Citra. Even better...Long Swim.
Bottles? Not much selection. JO, SR & IB.
Growler fills? JO, CV, SR & BIPA.
They have plenty of Citra on for awhile.....I was told.

Long Swim is really tasting great. Just wish they had growler fills of it.

 

FYI-If your heading up to Kernville tomorrow check the roads. Big fire started at the town of Lake Isabella around 3 or 4 this afternoon. Over 60+ homes already destroyed. I heard 2 people died. We drove in around 1 and it was dry. It happened very quick. Hwy 178 to 14 is closed as the fire and smoke was headed that direction. Some of the motels were asking for volunteers to give up there rooms to accommodate the families who lost their homes.

 

Went tonight with the buddies ... Citra, Long Swim, Hop Nookie, Class X all on tap ... Need to make the drive up here more!

 

They are bottling Hop Nookie...

 

It would nice to see ^this^ show up in the LA/OC area. Please bottle Long Swim.
