    Elizabeth IPA from home bargains
Has a slight white wine taste
It's nice, buttery biscuit malt that is the star but the hops and bitterness is just too muted

    Mordue Radgie Gadgie
A decent brown malty bitter, bitter
Shame it looks like it was one bottle that ended up in my Tesco branch by mistake

If it's the Dorset Brewing Company's one, avoid

A deeply depressing result. Luckily I already like beer as it could drive a man to drink

I'd go further and apply that to every cask lager I've come across so far and pretty much every DBC beer too.

Yeah I've had the Lager and the Citrus Maximus. Even the barman told me to avoid the latter.

Was pretty impressed on the Isle of Man with beers from Hooded Ram. Wish I would have been able to pick some bottles up to take home, but did manage to be given a pint glass as a souvenir. Also was impressed with Thornbridge beers, although I didn't seem to manage to find their beers super fresh while in England. Wasn't able to make it to any breweries unfortunately due to a substantial amount of family obligations. Would have loved to spend more time investigating better bottle shops and more pubs. But had a great trip nonetheless. Thanks for the suggestions!

Day off today, had a Zubr Lager with my pierogies and browned cabbage in a polish café for lunch before moving on to Brewdog Camden. While there I sampled their own prototype Kölsch, good but not nearly on the level of any real one. Also a NZ hopped pale from Marble (the American one) and Victory DirtWolf DIPA. Both were lovely DirtWolf was really very good.

A coworker brought me a 4-pack of fresh DirtWolf back from PA last week. Pretty good stuff, and good timing as my DIPA supplies from my May trip to the States are finished.

Stand out Blackcyl, nice black IPA, light on yeast, malts and hops but well balanced.

I was going to compare a bottle of saison dupont with my recently brewed saison, but the SD was completely flat and wonky. The cap hadn't sealed properly. Will be the only time I'll be able to say a saison I brewed was better than it:grinning:

Still, watched the football and that made up for it in spades :stuck_out_tongue:

2 days before payday was a good time for a local Byron Burger to open. Had a great 25p cheeseburger (that's an £8.70) "discount". Used the saving to buy a can of Beavertown Bloody Notorious and am now at home drinking more homebrewed Burton.

Timothy Taylor's Boltmaker on cask. Better than Landlord I think.

Our systems took a nose dive today
fantastic day for it to, had been put down for overtime
without my permission or me asking or wanting it
Staggered out of work and wasn't up to the few minute walks to the kettle or Port Street
    Went in Spoons
    Yeastie boys Nerdherder
There's the tropical fruit that you associate with antipodean pale ales, pineapple and lemongrass but then a superb bitter like finish

Robinson's 9 Hop IPA – very pleasantly surprised. Tastes surprisingly English. My new go-to IPA.

I don't know if it was the phone or the Ba site
but last night the text box for replies disappeared
I went on to gave a bottle of Brooklyn Scorcher IPA that was really refreshing & only £2 from Bargain Booze
Arbor The Devil Made Me Brew It which tge roast and big hops produced a liquorice ammonia type flavour that the Nords make as confectionery but felt it was a bit thin
Then onto Brewdog Elvis Juice that had the most amazing aroma and then the most average flavour
