Anyone have a sample of these? What did you think? 2 years in the making, sounds intriguing.

I doubt anyone besides the brewer/blender & crew have tasted yet
(even most of the employee posts have been really vague, not even mentioning flavors, style, etc.)
They did have a tour/preview event during ACBW that might have involved samples...
honestly from everything I'm reading, the sour/BA program seems like a separate operation—not like, Bruery Terreaux but truly a side project [] apart from their main beers (of which there are sooo many now!)

*Update from Brian: it is a "straight up oude bruin" (!); and it will see limited distro (accounts TBA)

Still quite vague, leaving out tasting notes and whatnot. Nonetheless, the blog post is pretty interesting; Ryan and Hank shed some more depth on the process: barrel-aging with red wine v. bourbon barrels, thoughts on oak spirals, etc.

    Inspirational comments from Ryan...Hank:

"I think it’s a great opportunity to show who we are. That we’re not just trying to make the cheapest beer possible. That we’re trying to make good shit...That we’re more than IPAs, ales, lagers. As brewers we want to be creative."

 uhhh...? better if everyone forgets anything said/printed in that post, wow. (have they even tasted it??)
these guys = "president"/CFO and operations/logistics, totally detached from the beer for over a year or two.
The head brewer & blender is Brian, and the "director of brewing operations" is Jimmy (formerly of Brooklyn)...

found much better posts on this blog, clicking around:
here's Jimmy on bottling and on barrels/quality-control
and Brian on the timeline. Not every release in Stow Away Series will be this old, but all will be barrel-aged.
TL;DR = it's a blended oud bruin, aged 2+ years in red wine barrels.
also I don't think the writer of this blog is an actual brewery employee...?

References are all Cape May...understandably. no? Regardless, descriptions/tasting notes are ambiguous for a good reason; to reserve judgment to the public. Cape May's fan base will have a bias opinion based on Brian's/Cape May's opinion. So, Brian kept quit...somewhat

    Certainly talk the talk:

"So, we got a bunch of used wine barrels. Yes, used. When it comes to brewing, these things aren’t like cars — newer is most definitely not better. You want them used and abused because the flavors of whatever had previously been inside — whether bourbon, cognac, rum, or, as in the case of The Keel, red wine — are going to leech into the beer. And, since red wine is almost as good as our IPA — almost — that’s a good thing. A really good thing."
