They are the very definition of micro, I can't remember the exact number but it's a small system and tucked in this office park near John Wayne.

The beers aren't bad but I wouldn't go out of my way for them again other than that first time. Maybe later on down the line when things are a bit more dialed in.

I have somewhat of a balanced approach to visiting breweries. When I started with craft beer, I didn't even know what styles I liked. I tried everything. Now, I frequent some places more than others because of quality and location. I don't go to as many places as I used to because I know where the good stuff is and I prefer to drink that. I'll still hit up new places, but usually if they are recommended by others, on here or elsewhere. There's too much good beer available to stop at random places often... random places usually aren't good.

Retail wise, I definitely practice "spoiled favoritism". If I'm committing to a 22oz bomber or 16oz four pack, I'm never buying anything random.

Glendale Taps got the Lost Abbey/DuPont collab beer on. Both brewmasters are also present at GT... I asked Tomme about DDG and he said to expect an announcement on it next week

Anyone hit up Hacienda for their 50% off sale on sours and stouts this evening? I'm curious what people got. I got a 4-pack of Evil Twin soft DK @ $8. Regretting that I didn't snag a Berserker @ $10.

    You guys notice pricing?

It's really caught me off guard because the IBB was $4 for a 16oz can, EMJ was $8 for a 16oz can and DLF was $8.

IBB went from $17 for 22oz to $16 for 64oz. That's a dramatic drop in price, even considering the format change.

And since when has a 12% Evil Twin bomber been $8??

Another BA thought that maybe demand is down so they're finally dropping prices to a reasonable spot.

I bought Double Fudge for $7.99, 22oz. bomber. Might be a pricing error on my end.

For those interested, Ballast Point Belmont/LB location looks like it's coming along on schedule. I believe I read they are shooting for a July 3rd opening. Just in time for the 4th of July weekend. And it looks like they got plenty of outdoor seating. You might even get a view of the fireworks from the Queen Mary on Monday. I did a drive by on Friday but didn't realize how big it is. On the LB hopheads Facebook there a minute long video of the facility from the outside looking in. Not sure if the 3rd is like a soft opening or a full on Grand Opening. Ha vent seen any info coming out of the BP camp.

They are indeed shooting for next week...I spent some time there today for the 'friends & family' opening and it's pretty impressive.

Look for the actual soft opening to be closer to Wednesday...

I didn't realize they were that far along. From the outside it still looks like they have a long way to go. Great news though! That rooftop deck looks freaking amazing!

I am pretty sure if Firestone had a redo, they would not have done Venice. But once they realized their mistake they were already committed.

Same here. I was expecting sometime in fall, but I won't complain!
