Your Summer vacation beer plans?

I did not have any summer vacation beer plans. I did however rent a condo at Golf/Ski resort for an overnight with my sons.

I did not find out until after I booked the room just how close the resort was to Short's brewery.

I did not find out until after I checked in that the resort offered a free shuttle from the front door of my condo to the front door of Short's!

 

Oh too true, though, if I know that I have to drive anywhere, I don't consume any alcohol. I have seen DUIs ruin too many lives in my family to let one night of fun possibly hurt someone else. Beer isn't worth that.

Beer plans for summer, Aslin is the one I have to go to, then VT brewery stops for sure. (no reason to name them everyone knows which ones)

 

NE trip in early September... All the usual suspects brewery wise we will hit except for the northern stuff (HF and Alchemist... But I am bringing stuff that I am sure I can trade for locally in the area to save the trip, haha).

 

Halfway through my plans - stayed in Cape Cod, MA last week and plowed through a bunch of great stuff that can't be had in CT. Best new beers to me were Night Shift and Wormtown. Had Whirlpool, Santilli, Morph and a lot of Be Hoppy during the week. Whirlpool and Be Hoppy were the clear winners. Doing a week in Libertyville, IL at the beginning of August and plan to follow the same general idea.

 

Where'd you get Night Shift on the Cape?

 

My biggest drinking trip of the year is to Saratoga for Travers (horse race). Will be in town 8/25-28. The area is kind of a beer wasteland as far as quality local breweries, but we usually end up bringing a mix of great session beers and bigger IPAs with us. Drinking at the track is one of my favorite summer time activities, slightly ahead of drinking on the beach.

 

Wife and I are taking two weeks to drive up the I-5 with planned stops in Chico for Sierra Nevada, Portland to see friends and imbibe everything I can get my hands on, a trip to De Garde, then up to Seattle for a few days where I hope to hit up Fremont, Holy Mountain, Reubens, and others. Then on the way back down we'll be staying in Eugene and Sacramento one night each. It'll be my first time in Oregon and Washington, so I'm looking forward to the trip.

 

Tonight I'm grilling steaks and enjoy a sunny day in California. That's all I need and heaven forbid I might drink a PBR...

 

Be there in two weeks. Food any good or just go for the beers?

Nice. I actually have to pick a buddy up at the Hyannis train station on Friday, which looks to be nearby.

Not dead of summer but around of October i plan on heading to Vermont for a road trip. Nice to see the trees change and hopefully ill grab some great beers

 

I'm finishing up an over a month long Italy vacation next Thursday...had around 100 beers along the way (mostly Italian craft beers) from Rome to Venice to now Ravenna and Saturday I'm heading to Lake Como to finish up the trip. The breweries here aren't really visitable but I've hit almost any and all craft beer bars along the way, attended a beer festival in Rome, had a few Cantillons on tap and tried every single hoppy beer and sour I could get my hands on! I'm seriously impressed with the hoppy beers over here and would recommend them to anyone that lives for hops, especially anything from Vente Forte brewery...man they know how to make a great beer!!! I've picked up 3 Cantillon bottles along the way that I'm packing back to the States and really looking forward to using the dregs in some homebrews as well!!!

 

I forgot that one, I've got Columbus Day in NH / VT. Not really beer centric, although we always go to Harpoon in Windsor for a few hours. Same trip every year for us, sometimes the leaves cooperate, sometime they don't. Harpoon is always steady though.

Hoping to get to Asheville the weekend after the 4th. So many great breweries, so little time.
