It looks like the current inventory in the bottle shop happens to be the bottles that were $20 in the first place. I know they had Nectar and Wild Mountain Honey available at the Farmstand yesterday, perhaps they are all out of the lower priced stuff?

In other words, I don't think any bottles had their earlier price bumped up, since I think that might be a better answer to your question.

Sorry, my question was poorly worded. I meant have the bottles on the shop always been priced at $20? I hadn't bought any online in addition to my allotment through the Hive, so I was just wondering if $20 was the going rate. I assume we got a price break at $15/per by joining the club. Doesn't make too much of a difference to me, was more curiosity than anything.

We get our regular allotment (6 or 12 bottles a month) at $15 per bottle. We do NOT get that same price on any additional purchases. So all the bottles currently in the shop are priced the same as they were the day they were released.
The price break only applies to the 6 or 12 bottles.

Wasn’t an event per say, but an opportunity to check out the farm/brewery and chat up a storm with Evan; talked about the future, his tasty brews, the coincidence of Suarez opening up on the same day, among other shenanigans…always a good time Evan and Emily

Anyone know if they sold out of Nectar or not? I'd love to see that pop up in the shop again so I can buy a couple more bottles

Great pics. Would you mind elaborating on the comment about Suarez opening on the same day? Did Evan take that as a dig?

So no beers were to be drank at the farm opening? Just a tour of the place and talk with Evan?

O no, not at all…All those guys in the Hudson valley are best buds/groupies; Jimmy Carbone among others have written articles on that whole little pocket. Additionally, they have held events and collaborated together as well (http://blog.timesunion.com/tablehopping/50585/bacchus-and-friend-take-over-beer-belly-taps/). In sum, this was all in good company

Bottle sales, bottle pours, some sampling, and some good discussions

@MichaelHatter kinda nailed this response above:

Also, as @Crookdrain mentioned above; Evan and Emily are always down to share/sample. In any case, really just wanted to see the farm and show some love on opening day. Oh, and as far as the tasters go: Nectar, Karnij, Wild Mountain, Dandeliaison, Royal Jelly, Karnl...Death Trap = Can't get enough = $$$$

All in all, can't wait for this "thing" to be fully operational; already called dibs near a tree for my tent

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the Hive supposed to receive at least 3 member only brews in the February - July membership? As far as I can recall, the releases look like this so far:

Orchard - Hive member only #1
Wild Rose - Hive member only #2
    Quince - Available in shop
    Bartlett - Available in shop
    Nectar - Available in shop
Barn Ale - Available in shop
Wild Mountain Honey - Available in shop
    Karnij - Available in shop
    Narcissus - Available in shop
Royal Jelly - Available in shop
    Dandeliason - Available in shop
Bouquet 1 (Wild Violet) - Available in shop
    Precious - Available in shop
    Karnl - Available in shop
Tree Beer - Available in shop

Anybody have any information on if they will follow through with #3?

I could be wrong, but I don't recall them ever saying anything about Hive only beers. The only reason that even happened with the first two is they were (I assume) the last two batches brewed under their old (significantly smaller) system.

Just looked back at the membership form that I filled out and there is no mention of it but I swear it was listed on the website at some point as one of the Hive member benefits (along with Magnum bottles and first go at event tickets). There is also a reference to it in post #76 of this thread. It's not a big deal for me but was just curious what happened to that part of it.

You could be right, but I think I always interpreted that as Hive and Swarm members would get access to three exclusive beers per month, exclusive meaning "only available to Hive and Swarm members". But I also hardly paid attention to it, since I knew I would be joining no matter what.

Actually, I just dug up my original contract, and the only thing they say is that the membership would serve as their primary distribution until the farm and tasting room open, "making every every bottle nearly exclusive to you" until then. That was before the Swarm existed though, I don't know if they made availability distinctions between the two later on.

There are stacks of 3 or 4 Plan Bee beers at DeCicco's Armonk as of yesterday evening. Around $18.99 each.

Last year I waited until October to drink mine, and it was terrific. Very superficial research makes it look like general ratings seemed to improve with time, so I'm probably going to age this year's for a while.

That'll be great when they get a tap room going. They'll be 3 brewerys within a short ride of the rail trail.
