    News:

"You guys like cans. A lot.

...we're pumped to announce we're changing the packaging format for all of our hop forward beers from 750ml/25.4oz bottles into 16oz cans!

Batch sizes and case counts will go up as we get our legs under us.

Cans will be available at both breweries, but please note we won't be able to split the cases evenly on the same day as packaging for logistical reasons (so fewer cases available in Boston vs Canton on day of packaging). Thanks on behalf of the whole trillium team for your support to help us achieve this incredible milestone."

First two can releases in June (end of the month) were Congress Street and Melcher Street. Cans come in four packs but you can buy individual cans, if you like. Yes, the date is on the bottom.

    Finally:

Sad to hear that Shea, at the Fort Point location, is leaving this month. She’s real cool and I wish her the best. Be sure to wish her well while she’s still there.

$13 4/pack is a damn good price. Now if Congress can just come a wee bit closer to the Heady price!

They seem to be adding another tier of pricing below the FPPA band (which is supposed to be $15) for the lower abv pales. I am digging that for sure.

Excited to make my first trip to Trillium today! No clue what I'm gonna get. Never had anything from them. Hopefully it's not crazy and I can have a couple samples.

$13/14/15 pricing for PA/IPA/DIPA is my long term hope post having to contract the canning line. I'll buy them anyways but that would be perfect.

I'm surprised there are 300 cases of Melcher Street left, considering it sold out in FP yesterday.

My understanding is that they ship out as many cases as they can to have them there by noon, but that the canning line is probably still running at open so FP runs out unless there is a second delivery at some point later in the day. Also more limited cold storage at FP. Hoping there are still Melcher cans in Canton when I can get there after work today.

I think the day of the canning, they can get about 160 cases to FP.

seems like theyve been splitting up whatever is left the next day evenly between the 2.

"Trillium will officially package all of its hop-forward beers, starting with Congress Street IPA, in 16 oz. cans
    ...
The company’s wild, sour and barrel-aged beers will continue to be bottled, he added."

So where do the stouts/porter and saisons fall? The saisons are fairly hop-forward, think they're getting canned?

Obviously there is can hype which might die down a bit.

But they just sold half of their Melcher batch (300 cases, about 30 barrels) in one day. In comparison, according to Twitter history, the last batch of Melcher street bottles lasted from May 20th till June 15th.

I think can hype is going to actually go up for them a bit. Artaic cans are going to sell out in an afternoon and from there I imagine it will snowball.

Just an FYI...Five Horses Tavern in Davis Square has had multiple Trillium taps for at least a month or two (maybe longer).

I'm not sure that it's just a question of "hype." Trillium is a phenomenal brewery that constantly sold through some of the most expensive hoppy beer on the market. Those same awesome beers are now much more affordable.

Definitely "can hype" and holiday traffic will cause the surge in purchase this week. Once it becomes the norm it will settle a bit. I imagine sales will(I hope for them) increase to an extent but I would not imagine crappy lines. I truly hope not too.

Same for 5 Horses South End, though I see neither location listed on the Trillium website.
