Troegs - Nimble Giant

yeah this is a really nice beer. can't get 077 or Head High without driving over two hours in total, so this'll definitely do for the weekend

 

None at Wegmans Princeton but stumbled across Space Juice which was a nice surprise.

 

I saw it at my Wegmans in Bridgewater too but it didn't have a date that I could find so I passed. Tried it yet?

 

Lol it was just released why would you need a date.

 

I also checked for a date but couldn't find one but decided to buy anyway. Last time I was in Vermont I passed because I had already spent too much on beer that trip I will toss it in the fridge when I get home and probably have one tomorrow. (Space Juice)

Sorry to derail the Nimble Giant thread. Now back to the topic on hand. Took a quick look around several area stores and no luck. I'm with some other posters here. If I happen across it i'll buy but won't hunt for it.

 

I saw 4 packs with best buy dates on it of 10/21/16 which I assume was brewed 6/21/16.

Also these new cans look amazing and it's pretty unfortunate they're in a box. They would've looked unreal in pak teks

 

Luckily, not everyone thinks that style of beer is the pinnacle of brewing.

Looks fairly clear, and Troeg's description only lists Pilsner and Vienna malt. Can't be too heavy on the Vienna by the color.

Kinda figured but too lazy to look up. I think that's what the Soace Juice WAS packaged in.

 

Yeah, whatever magic is supposed to happen with that style seems to be lost on me. I'll just have to direct my resources elsewhere from now on.

 

You are not alone. There are some that are good, but others have the same problem most of the beers labeled "Session IPAs" have, in that they taste like hop water, from a total lack of body or any malt flavor. I wish Nugget Nectar was year round because that's what I want in a hoppy beer.

 

FWIW, I believe the can has a best by date and not a canned on date. Kinda frustrating but a pretty decent beer IMO.

In case I wasn't clear, I was talking about the Long Trail Space Juice the other poster mentioned, not Nimble Giant. I'm not a freaking idiot.

 

Pretty sure everyone in this thread about Nimble Giant thought you were talking about Nimble Giant there.

Anyway, it isn't the NE style I was hoping for but it is a damn solid double IPA. Pretty content with the pickup and another solid DIPA release to tide me over until SOHTC releases next week.

 

Yeah I eventually got that but clearly I replied to the guy who said he picked up Space Juice. Earlier on this very thread I already posted a few times about buying and enjoying Nimble Giant.

 

Even though this is a thread about Nimble Giant I also am looking forward to the SOHTC release. Hopefully it'll be easy to get this release.

 

FWIW- I was able to get some on the way home tonight. I grabbed a 4-pack and should have gotten 2; it's more in the 'Enjoy By' mold, and right up my alley. Hopefully it's still around tomorrow .
