I tried the June 21 2016 Sue can today. Very good. IMO as close to the last bomber of Sue I had, back in ......... Well anyway, i think it is the best of the canned Sue that I have had.

Is XHops Silver taproom only or is some gonna hit distro?

They said they are keeping it at the taproom for a while to make sure people don't get shut out due to the 'plenty king sue left' post. This is just what I heard from Megan at TG when I was there.

Agree 6/21 is very good as was 5/25, 2 of the best from Florida yet.

Xhops Silver is excellent. Better than gold in my opinion (but I didn't love gold like many others did).

I'm more psyched for Sumo than any new TG offering in awhile.

Anyone recall how long the other Sue variants lasted in the taproom? Thru the weekend?

Those that have had Sumo, where would you rank it?

I'm guessing the TG brewing staff are the only ones who've had Sumo.

IIRC, it's only ever been on cask a few times

Galaxy Sue lasted at least a week. Can't remember on double citra.

Barrel samples. L-R KBBS, Assassin, Cycle Collab Smoked Porter. I'm digging these more than 2013 release. Soonish...

Im trying to remember back to when they brewed the cycle collab. I thought at the time they called it a "cuban" stout. Maybe cuban refers to cigars which means smokey? For some reason I was thinking more along the Mexican stout lines
People usually speak of porters as being a little thinner on the mouthfeel...the third stout does look a tad more thin (if thats possible)

Last night I tasted my second GDH 'Sue side by side with the 6/21 canning of FL 'Sue.

The GDH 'Sue was my first Decorah-brewed beer from TG. After all the brouhaha over FL v IA 'Sue, plus the additional dry hopped Galaxy from the Decorah bomber, I was expecting more separation between the two.

I liked the GDH 'Sue only slightly more. The FL Sue was a bit hazier and had less carbonation, and (contrary to my "memory" comparison a few posts up), the GDH 'Sue was less bitter (but only slightly less) with a more pleasing aroma. But, they were so close, ... well I was surprised how close they were.

There really isn't much difference anymore. There is one, but it's pretty subtle, and the overall quality is very, very close.

Agreed. The 4 packs are now well worth the ten bucks. Especially considering Todd is 70% more for essentially the same quality of beer. And we seem to get beer from Florida to MN faster than we can get surly to the shelf.
