That's what lured me in. Got a mix of like 9 bottles of Fremont BA stuff and it was only $15 to ship. Hasn't been a lot of other stuff worth ordering lately, but I am really glad I joined for those
Been using Tavour around 9 months and have been glad to try a lot of PNW beers that aren't readily available in the Bay Area. In fact, I just had a Saison from Woodland Empire in Idaho earlier today. They have an app that makes ordering pretty easy. My only problem is I always end up buying more beer than I can drink!
Totally with you on this one. There's a few breweries up that way that I never see down here in San Diego. I've enjoyed using Tavour quite a bit to try bottles that I can't get here.
I live in Ohio and have been getting west coast stuff from them for months now. IPA's are hit or miss on freshness but the company is great. If you spend enough money with them you can get on their VIP list and get crazier things offered. At least that's what I assume. I accidentally got a VIP email offering something rare, told them I'd take one and got a reply saying "we're sorry, you weren't supposed to get that email" and they discounted my next purchase. Now I got another VIP email for real this time. Some Ale Apothecary barrel aged sours. Dropped $65 on two bottles but that's the going rate for great sours so...
I have been getting their emails for months and didn't bite until now. It is called Hoppin Honey from Rooftop Brewing Co. A 22oz for $14. I got it because I've never had the braggot style and am curious to try. I replied yesterday, xmas eve. Can anyone tell me roughly when I can expect a response and for my shipment to arrive. What can I expect via shipping cost? (I live in NY)
My other questions are that when I order different items a day or two apart, do they ship together or separately? Also, has anyone ordered IPAs from this site? If so, did they arrive expediently and relatively fresh?
I use them, quite happy with the service. No whales offered but lots of things I can't get it my area. Too easy to reply "I'll take 3-4"... then the wife starts commenting on the accumulating boxes in the pantry. I've ordered plenty of PNW IPAs. Freshness generally not an issue, though nothing perfect. I'd say about a 70-75% hit rate.
They give you a deadline to build a "crate" up to a certain date. Anything you order before that date gets shipped together, then a new crate is started with a new shipping date. They have an app that makes it pretty easy to check and keep track of it. The only hoppy beer I ordered from them was pseudo sue, I think it was 4-5 weeks old when I got it but they disclosed the bottling date and the shipping date before you purchased so there was no surprises there.
I placed an order on 11/18 for 6 Abraxas. In remaining month and a half that I had my order open I ordered about a dozen more beers. I received the package last week. Everything was there but I was missing FOUR Abraxas! The main reason I even started an order. I emailed Them after the end of the business day on Saturday, quite frankly freaking out because I didn't want them to think I was lying. Yesterday I got an email back, short but saying "Thanks for letting us know about the mistake, we are investing and will get to the bottom of it." This is my second time getting anything from them. First time was extremely easy. This time it's pretty awful. I will update when they get back to me. Best case scenario they track down those four bottles!
Anyone ever had any missing bottles? I have 5 missing from last shipments - emailed them but nothing back from them. Nothing wrong with my first shipment but this previous shipment, missing bottles. No communication. Weird.
I was missing 4 Abraxas bottles. No explanation but they did refund my money. I had to bed for shipping back as compensation since they didn't offer to replace the beer with something as good. I was very turned off. They screwed up big time and didn't make it right. Part of me is thinking they conned me into to ordering from them to start a basket and then turned around and said they didn't have all those. They still made money off of me by having me buy other bottles. But I never would have started the basket if they didn't offer Abraxas. They suck in my opinion. I cannot recommend them.
I've emailed them twice about the issue and nothing back. Going to wait a few more days and call and escalate yet again. Glad to see that I am not the only one.
Got my first crate yesterday. Only hassle was having to sign for it, but I understand that necessity. Can't wait to crack a Baptista!
I signed up earlier this month, after being referred by a friend. Really enjoying the experience so far. However I've yet to fill my first crate yet. If you're not paying attention, it can get expensive pretty quick. Probably the last thing I needed was an easier/more convenient way to buy beer though....
I just received my first crate. I had an order of 14 items (12 cans, 2 bombers) that arrived via GSO. There was a packing slip included that made inventory easy - everything was there. Package was pretty good....was a big box (slightly bigger than a wine box) with cardboard lattice to separate the beers. It was fine for cans, but there was no additional cushioning for the bottles. If So far pretty happy with the experience
Having a terrible experience as well. Ordered 2 cans of pseudoSue more than a month ago and they still havent shown up. The app is awful, the UI is terrible. I accidentally added a beer to my "cellar" once (the first time I used the app) and they automatically charged my credit card. There is no remove button. They use a delivery service here in NYC that calls from a blocked numbers like a damn drug dealer. Got no tracking number so I had no idea the beer was out for delivery. When I told the guy I wasnt home he said "Ok Sorry" so I asked if they could deliver it tomorrow "We dont do that," he said an hung up. So I email tavour and they say we can move you to the night delivery schedule that comes after work hours. Great. Not so much, the delivery window they gave me is two weeks out, today. The packaged never showed up and I just received a text saying my delivery is scheduled for tomorrow!? I'm beyond frustrated with this company...
Yeah, everything else with Tavour was pretty good but shipping seems to be a big problem. Unless you can ship it to your work or you work from home, it's basically impossible to plan a day off to be there to sign for it. My first month it took 4 days from box close to delivery. My second month it took 10 days. Doesn't help that their estimate is always 7 days but you don't know when they'll actually deliver until the night before.
