Crow bar gets PtY in Feb and they don't post it to Taphunter. So I would think this may be bogus. Just thought it was interesting.

MT Accumulated Knowledge on shelf at TJ's Aliso Viejo... why make a bright & juicy IPA exclusive to a store that doesn't refrigerate??

 

Looks like TJ's on 3rd and Fairfax just got it in.

 

Any TJ HB sightings? I stopped in at Huntington Harbour on the 4th. Nothing. Just Fruitlands.

Picked mine up at TJ's on Hollywood/Vine.

Its a shame to see this on the shelf when there are other lesser beers sitting in the open refrigerators.

As long as it's out of direct sunlight it will be fine. Chill on the non-refrigerated stuff. You know it's fresh.
What's bad is if you buy a cold beer at the store then by the time you get home it's room temp again.

 

How did you test your hypothesis?

This is false. It's just an old wives tale that if beer goes from cold to warm and then back cold, or vice versa, that it goes bad. Especially in such a short period of time there would be absolutely no negative effects on the beer. The only way there could be an effect from temperature changes is if you store it for a lengthy period of time (months to years) in a space that gets very warm (65-70+ degrees) regularly or for long periods of time.

 

yah, not a big deal if it's cold and then gets room temp on the way home. Actually, not a deal at all unless you allow the temperature inside to exceed 75+. Which you probably won't.

You just don't want the liquid inside to keep at a higher temp over a period of time, that'll make it go bad. So all the dudes here who collect beer and display it in their living room are doing themselves a disservice.

Accumulated Knowledge is on the west side. Found it at the el segundo trader joe's as well as the one in Beverly hills on La Cienega

tasting awesome, but I had to create a line for myself outside my pad and do a BT vert. while waiting to get in and try it. Cause, you know, it wouldn't have that east coast murky feels without that experience.
