While I haven't tried lots of great stouts but these are my best.

    Standard
    • Bell's Expedition Stout - Sooo well balanced that I wowed.
    • Dark Horse Plead the 5th - Damn that coffee flavor is lovely.
    • De Struise Black Albert - Resin bomb.

    Something added
    • Cigar City Hunahpu - Best of the spiced stouts I've tried.
    • Alesmith Hawaiian Speedway - Very drinkable and tons of coffee flavors with hint of coconut.
    Barrel Aged
    • Firestone Walker Parabola - Just delicious

Sure. Definitely worth knocking off your hit list. I've seen a 12oz bottle of it going for $700 online, but please don't do anything like that. For that amount of money you could get a pretty good bottle of scotch at retail. If you think you have enough trade muscle to pull one then by all means go for it. Very few can.

Old news. Quite a few maple stouts have already surpassed it. Founders missed their window of opportunity with this one.

In my last 100 beers did I have a stout? :stuck_out_tongue::grinning: I think I had Aun Mas a Jesus and Even More Jesus should be among the top . Why did I rate that so low?

Crazy how this one exploded even after the second release. Hope to try this at some point.

Thank you all for the feedback! I have tried and agree with many of the suggestions. Some of these I have not tried, so look forward to ticking them off the list.

    Cheers!

I can see that you didn't like Huna, there were 4 of us drinking it and 2 didn't like it.

The great part of craft beer is it is complex and subjective. Everyone's palate is different. The one thing we ALL agree on is that beer is supposed to be enjoyed and shared with friends. Was it the newest batch?

A lot of flavored stouts also tend to show up for some reason.

the woot stouts were awesome, and the central waters barrel aged brewers select was just as good.

For 6% and under, can't go wrong with a six pack of Sierra Nevada's Stout. And if you like hops in your stout, this is the one.
