Ba Sumatra would be great. Would be nice to compare it to Perrin big griz

Can't wait for Backwoods Bastard, hopefully I'll find a case this year.

You should be able to, it sat on the shelves here for at least a month after the release.

Somehow, I don't think many people know what it is. I don't think it even saw NW Iowa distribution last year for some reason, I drove to Lincoln, NE to find it.

I hesitate to say this for fear people will listen to me, but Backwoods Bastard is one of the most underrated beers in my opinion. I prefer it to KBS but KBS has all the hype.

100% Agree... KBS is so underwhelming to me when I can buy a 4-pack of BB for $12...

Have there been any rumors of barrels aging or barrels being purchased in regards to an eventual CBS release down the line?

I'm quite the opposite. Backwoods is generally too boozy for me to appreciate, while KBS runs a little smoother to my palate.

They did recently acquire a bunch of maple syrup bourbon barrels, but no word on what went in them.

Totally agree about BB over KBS. I love me some KBS but Backwoods is so under appreciated. I had it on tap recently and was blown away. Hell, with all the hype and cost associated with KBS I might prefer breakfast stout over it.

Spike Cutlass was great! Had some at the KBS release this past March.

How recently? Project Pam was released about 6mo ago, and it had maple.

I asked a Founders rep at a KBS tasting in April and unfortunately he said don't expect CBS anytime soon. Hope he was just blowing smoke.....but not encouraging to hear from a rep.

Yea, its all a taste thing. And thats not intended to be a knock against KBS. For me, KBS is a great beer, just not worth dealing with the hype.

It was after Project PAM was released for sure. It was on a Facebook post from the place that ages the syrup, I believe, but it wasn't BLIS so I'm having a hard time finding it.

Well - they can sure skip making more Pam as far as I'm concerned. Hopefully if they're making CBS they make a bigger batch so more have a chance to partake. I suppose that once they have the barrels they can't let them sit empty too long due to the sugar, so perhaps they're already being put to good use.

BB on tap was the beer that started me on this odyssey!

I loved PAM, just had it on tap in St. Charles last weekend. But I'm all in chasing as much CBS as I can next time it comes out! Anything that Founders BA has been amazing. I love BB, but if it gets too warm becomes a little bit too syrupy.

Redankulous is outstanding. Enjoying one now. :grinning:

I regret not trying the harvest ale last year, but heard good things so i'll be getting some of that. Backwoods Bastard might be my favorite seasonal release (Redankulous is extremely impressive though!) so I can't wait for winter! Wondering what that winter TBA will be. I wish Founders would make another Barleywine. Never got to try the Bolt Cutter.

Or maybe bring back Curmudgeon's Better Half. Never tried that either, but it sounds amazing!

I just had a single of Redankulous tonight and it's a great imperial red. I might have to pick up a pack before it's out stock. That Sumatra Brown though....Fortunately for me, the local bottle shops are struggling in pushing out the Brown :grinning:. BA Sumatra is definitely intriguing and I hope it'll be distributed to my neck of the woods.....Cheers!
