Bukowski and Lower Depths are both cash only as well. My go to for pre game is Tasty Burger. Their can list is much smaller now than seasons past but still solid with Left of the Dial, Finest Kind, Anti-Hero and Sculpin, among others.

Cash only? Wow, who the hell has cash these days? Don't tell me, there's an ATM at both locations charging me $3 for the withdraw...

Sure do, owned by the same restaurant group. Any reasonable bank should refund you some amount of ATM fees these days anyway...so not much of a big deal to many.

Yes, if approaching from there my move is to hit Bukowski first. If they are mobbed I move on to the area immediately around Fenway. I agree with @Capt_Quint regarding Tasty Burger. Also I have never had bad service at Loretta's Last Call, a country western bar on the corner of Lansdowne and Ipswich behind the CF bleachers. They are similar to Tasty Burger in regards to canned beer selection. The can list on their website includes GF Sculpin, Boom Sauce, Dale's PA, Revolution Anti-Hero and JA House Lager (at >$3 less than inside the park).

Yard House has a nice patio out back, as well as a smaller bar with huge windows. I like Cornwalls before a game. They will have a few good local beers on tap for good prices and it has a pre game energy but you can still get a seat. Citizen is also good.

I was going to mention Citizen's Public House as well. If you're heading that way towards Yardhouse anyways, Citizen's has a small but well-selected tap list. May not be too crowded either, but I haven't been to that bar specifically on game day that I can remember.

Glad I found this thread. I'm going to be in Providence for a conference & have that Sunday free so I got a ticket to Fenway. Only real downside is the train doesn't leave Providence until 11:00 so I won't have much time to check out the area around the park, and I have to be back by 7:00.

16 oz pours of good beer here in SF are now $13.00, so I feel your pain.

I usually hit Boston BeerWorks before a game as it is kind of a tradition, what I have always done (wife likes the beer just fine and when I have the kids with me they like the menu), but have never been impressed with the beer. Was at Sox/Yankees last night and BeerWorks had an Equinox DIPA that was really good. Not just good for them but a really good beer. The last few times I have noticed that they are trying out new beers and generally seem to be moving in the right direction..

Not sure how much time I'll have before the game to check it out. Train gets in at noon, then subway to the park. May try and hit it after.

    Thanks!

Since I asked some questions earlier, and everyone was kind enough to respond, here's a quick update of our experience on Sat...

Not uncharacteristically, we were running late and got into town later than expected. We got settled in our hotel and decided to go straight to Fenway, get into the box early and eat and drink for free. To my disappointment, there was no JA in the box. When I mentioned to my wife that I was going to ask our host to see if he could order some, the look she returned told me that I should probably keep my mouth shut and enjoy the Harpoon IPAs, which I did, along with a few mixed drinks. After the game we stopped at Buks because it was across the street from our hotel. Weird space, long and skinny, the bar area three deep and we were clearly the oldest folks there. We managed to grab a small table in the back and had a couple JA HU's, which tasted fresh and well-kept. All-in-all a great night, nice to get away from our house with three teenage girls, and I don't even think they had a party while we were gone, or hid it very well. Despite all the criticism of Fenway, as an infrequent visitor, I just love being there.

I had the Equinox last week and was pleasantly surprised! Check out the color on it - made for a super-citrusy IPA. Very tasty.[IMG]

Damn this thread is helpful. Heading over to Fenway May 21 for Sox/Indians. Looks like the JA stand is right next to our section. Probably hit Yard House pre-game or maybe Tasty Burger.

To clarify the map of JA locations - the "Third Base Deck" location refers to the bar set up directly inside Gate E on the street level, not the bar at the top of the grandstand above. People in my row in Section 25 were quite pleased to see the House Lager cans I managed to track down and made the extra effort to get their own. Additional points of sale might be in order.

Yeah I was looking at the Bleachers. Looks like one is just outside of Bleacher section 41.

Anything new worth checking out at Fenway? Going to my first game of the season tonight. Thank you!

JA House Lager which has been discussed here at length.
Harpoon cans are now 16oz as well, but I think House Lager is the only real new thing worth mentioning.

In the park you can find Harpoon IPA, Harpoon Wannamango, Goose Island IPA, Blue Point Toasted Lager, and Smuttynose Finestkind IPA pretty easily. Jacks Abby House Lager takes a bit of searching...my favorite spot to grab it is on Yawkey Way pre-game, especially if it's a nice night like tonight.
