Sounds like you had to buy new glass then as well since the fill should have been around $20...usually. I forgot my grumbler so I had to buy new glass and had a taster and ended up with $29ish

Nah, I brought my grumbler from home. I did wonder for a sec when I got in the car if maybe she charged me for a new one accidentally or something but since they sell them in the other room I just figured the price went up. Last time I got a Viet fill I think it was roughly $20 now that I think about it though.

That sounds like the $5+tax for new glass to me.

Also I realized after I opened it that it was brewer's blend viet speedway as the fill, not just regular viet. Not that it really mattered to me since it tasted delicious with my wings.

I had inquired about this when we were both there that saturday for the bottle release & was informed it wasn't available for a growler fill yet the site stated the opposite. if you go to the site now, as the legend states *available for growler fill the brewers blend was listed at the time. I can only guess it was a discrepancy but perhaps it wasn't... who knows?

My apologies if this is not the right place, but wanted to see if anyone had any Jamaica Blue and/or Velvet they'd be interested in trading. East coast guy here. Will delete if not the spot.

As long as a mod doesn't see it, you should be fine. They want all trades in the trading forum.

Do you need tickets printed or on your phone is good for bottle pickup?

    Yep, worked out just fine.

Also, the Anvil and Stave room is not by appointment anymore. You need to pick up tickets at the brewery store with a password.

I jumped in got 3 shots (1.5 oz tasters) for $6.50. Great.

Anybody pick up a 2014 olde ale? I picked up a bottle today and it shows 2016 in the barrel. I was told by two employees thats because when it was bottled/release. And its "indeed a 14", and that an old bottle was used for the picture.. I'm almost certain this isn't correct and will email later but wanted to see what others got.

Your certainty is lacking greatly. 2014 bottles do in fact have the 2016 in the golden barrel. The differences will be the color foil they used and also that it actually says 2014 in roman numerals on the label.

Well my certainly was lacking because, on the instagram post with picture states bourbon and brandy. This bottle doesn't state brandy barrels. One of the reasons why I chose to buy it, so my initial reaction was like bait and switched.

Never said brandy on the eventbrite page. The picture used was in fact their double barrel olde ale photo for when it was a bourdon / brandy. So I wouldn't say bait and switch, but I order stuff via words and not pictures...so I tend to read. =P

Nah, you're good. I asked the same thing when I saw the bottle. I proxied for some dude, so I wanted to have an answer for him when he asks. Like Reap said, look at the Roman numerals.

While your right, it never said bourbon & brandy olde ale. But why show a photo of a bottle that is not being given? I'm pretty sure at the time of sale they had the olde ale's already bottled they could of used as pictures, as they needed to know quantity they had available. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought their cellar sale was bottle's that were held back in storage and released at this time.

Who knows. Maybe ppl prefer pictures and they didn't have one yet at the time the initial email went out to announce the bottles, or a multitude of other reasons that I can't think of off the top of my head.

I will say that the '14 ba old ale is definitely tasting rather delicious. Pretty sure at the end of the day that is all that matters anyway.

I would agree! The '14 is rather tasty. I like the depth of the flavor. I preferred the '14 over the '15. Picked up an extra bottle it was so good.

Yes indeed, it's just wasn't what I was expecting so I was a little disappointed but life goes on.
