Where are you guys seeing 7/17?

 

I'm not seeing it, so I'm hoping @gilligantrips Hoof peeps are wrong

 

I'm on mobile now, but this is the first comment on the Jacuzzerooski event. Ryan Bichon is one of the main Hoof guys. He has often known descriptions of hop profiles, teku availability, insider info, etc.

This is on the event announcement post, not the discussion within the event itself. If you go to the HH page and then scroll to the event announcement, the comment is there.

 

This Sunday isn't even close to being sold out. I think it sounds pretty good, might grab a last minute ticket.

 

Damnit.... they said it was going to be the week after. Now I will be out too Konkey is one beer I have wanted to try for a while now and now I won't

 

Can't wait for 7/17....been waiting months for another Konkey release

 

Looking forward to greater distro in the future especially up north. You can have the lines & the crowds

 

Don't know where that came from since every release I have gone to has been nothing but smooth sailing.

 

Well, Hoof Hearted is about 90 mins south of me. So, hoping to see it get some distro up north. Different strokes for different folks as far as release parties, lining up for beer etc just not something I care to do even if it's 90 sec. away.
To your point I'm glad to hear it was smooth sailing, many others above have made mention of line cutting a-holes who need their growler served to them thru the exit only. Cheers to beers!

 

So has it been confirmed that konkey dong is in one week (7/17)

 

I wish I could say...(and if I could I wish it was the 24th).

So, in other news, I kind of wanted to share this.

I've finally gotten lucky over the past couple of weeks with a personal trip as well as some trades, and I've been fortunate enough to try Tree House's flagship lineup, as well as some of their other offerings. Some of them were same day or a day old, others were a week to a few weeks old.

The main thing I wanted to bring to this thread that I thought was interesting was that almost all of them had that same spicy yeast element that some folks complain about regarding Hoof Hearted brews that are "too fresh." And this was regardless of how long I waited to crack one. I've been guilty of dinging HHB on this in the past as well, but now that I've experienced the same thing in some of the most highly acclaimed beers of this style, I don't really think this is something that's happening on accident.

As an afterthought, I found the juicy IPAs both breweries offer to be very comparable. While TH was consistently at a higher level going from one IPA to the next, the big names from HHB weren't that far off. Since I'm already pretty accustomed to HHB, and the hype levels of TH had pumped my expectations to stratospheric levels, nothing of TH really swept me away. Since HHB provided me with some of my first super juicy IPA experiences, a couple of theirs have totally knocked my socks off at first sip. Of course some HHB beers are underwhelming, and some are just totally weird as well.

All that is to say, I really think we've got a damn good thing going here in our own backyard.

Dong for sure next Sunday. Also, sounds like it will be the best batch yet after talking with one of the brewers today for a while about it. Can't wait!

Looks like your prayers have been answered. I on the other hand will have to find a way to get some cans some other way--hate having to ask someone else for something I could normally do myself. Oh well, it's been quite a wait!

 

I don't think you need to pray, I usually just go in the bathroom, lock the door, and get it done myself.

 

Would have been smart for them to do a Saturday release to go along with the Bodhi release on Saturday. Could have got people traveling to Columbus from the north to stop at both events. Probably will get people that are staying overnight, though.
