According to the news the first person showed up at 9:30am. That's just crazy!

I'm going with before 1:30 there will be at least 60 people in line. Have fun guys!

Only 10 at the moment, but I'd imagine it'll grow pretty quickly before too long

Good to read they had a Food Truck show up for lunch. Someone just posted there's around 30 in line now and all the shady spots are gone. Will everyone lose their spot in line running to the ice cream truck when it shows up? It's sticky out there!

I definitely ate my words on that over under - the pic they posted of the line looks pretty reasonable for 1:30.

30 mins before open and last update of line was only about 75 people. Seems like the No Limit thing may have some people holding off til the last minute just in case there's someone in line early with deep pockets. That decision might just do the opposite of what Veil was hoping to do.

I'm definitely surprised there wasn't a bigger line but am still really curious how much they move by closing time.

Edit: Also that draft list is a monster today
    For draft we have:
    -Master Master Shredder Shredder-5.5%-double dry-hopped IPA(FRESH batch)
    -IdontwanttoBU-6.9%-0 IBU IPA
    -Crucial Taunt-8%-our flagship Double IPA
    -Hornswoggler-7%-robust chocolate milk stout
    -Master Shredder-5.5%-our flagship IPA
-Kevin from Sales-5.8%-sour IPA with Mosaic
    -Cat Boy-8.4%-double IPA with Simcoe
    -Major Rager-6.3%-IPA
    -Broz Night Out-9%-Citra Double IPA
-Child Support-4.5%-Hoppy Pilsner with Citra(due to over canning, we have LIMITED draft supplies)
-Boss Man-8.7%-Sour Double IPA with Citra, Simcoe, and Amarillo
    -Step Dad Chaperone-8.5%-Mosaic Double IPA
-Stay Woke-8%-Nelson Double IPA(pilot batch; limit supplies)

I think people are getting smarter and realizing that 99% of the weeks you don't need to be there hours before opening.

First time and it was awesome. Pretty hot waiting from about 2PM but it was awesome once inside. I think I had a small of almost every pure IPA and DIPA - all were great. Brewery lived up to the hype - wow!!!

Glad to hear it was a good time, I think they really do a great job.

Looking pretty good for day 2, midnight post:
    The Veil Brewing Co.
Shawn Cox I know we have very limited supplies of Boss Man(less than 12 cases), but a bunch of Master Master and Step Dad(100ish each cases of each), and probably 40-70 cases of Child Support. Not exact numbers, but close enough

If this becomes the new norm for the most part I think it's great.

I heard the line was longer later than expected and I wonder if it jist moved slower because people's orders took longer to fill. 3 of this, two of that... Rather than just "limit please".

I got there around 545 and the line for draft was longer than for cans. Veil staff was friendly (as always) and were moving as quickly as they could. Enjoyed all the new beers, but was really digging Child Support (especially for this weather). Save for a few people (obviously muling or from out of town to stock up), most looked like they were grabbing mixed cases or less. Veil nailed this one, and I hope releases are similar going forward. There was absolutely no reason to line up early for the beers IMO, especially when Stay Woke may have been the weakest of the offerings.

    Official Numbers going into today:

-Child Support-4.5%-Hoppy Pilsner with Citra(approx 53 cases; $13/4-pack; NO LIMIT)
-Boss Man-8.7%-Sour Double IPA with Citra, Simcoe, and Amarillo(approx. 4.5 cases; $15/4-pack; NO LIMIT)
-Step Dad Chaperone-8.5%-Mosaic Double IPA(approx 77 cases; $15/4-pack; NO LIMIT)
    -Master Master Shredder Shredder-5.5%-double dry-hopped IPA(approx 117 cases; $14.50/4-pack; NO LIMIT)

So yesterday they sold 405 cases total (with 50-60 crowlers):
    Child Support - 87
    Boss Man - 95.5
    Step Dad - 116
    MMSS - 107

I might be the only one who thinks it's interesting to see that but in case not. Can compare to, say, Release of CT and Idont - sold 179 of CT and 159 of Idont for 338 cases total (1 case per limit).

Reasonable conclusion - no limits but more beer and higher output means they sell more and there's still more to go around. Looks like win win, right?

Sounds like this is how they're going moving forward:

The Veil Brewing Co. Until people start getting shut out on day one, there will no longer be limits on majority of our cans. We are doing our best to make sure everyone is happy. Hopefully everyone recognizes that and appreciates our efforts.

Been hearing great things about Veil out on the West coast. Stopped by today at opening for cans and a couple samples with my baby. Short line, great beers, cool people...this place was awesome!

Oh yea and as a Nelson lover, Stay Woke more than lived up to expectations....wish they still had some crowlers

I'm heading down to Richmond tomorrow and will likely visit The Veil Saturday. Any chance of trying these on tap?

You'll probably have the chance to try at least 8-10 of their beers on tap. Occasionally on Saturdays they also release crowlers (although I'm not sure if they still do this). The best way to keep updated is to check social media, they're very diligent about updating their Facebook page to keep customers in the loop about what's on tap and what's available to take home. Enjoy!
