I drove an hour in Tsunami like conditions. The weather ocassionally breaks here and there but for the most part it's been complete shit. I don't have a single issue with empty chairs on a day like this.

The easy thing to do would be to just not wait in line. Some people definitely abuse the chairs. it is one thing to use the bathroom, feed the meter, but to just put a chair out and roll into the bar for a few hours is a stretch. If it is too rainy for you then just wait inside or show up later with an umbrella. This whole put a chair out 3 hours early and never be anywhere near it is a complete joke. Either wait like all the others or don't go. I wish the line would be better at policing itself. I don't blame people for not sitting in the rain, but I think it's a joke that they put a chair outside to claim a spot they aren't actually ever in.

Looking at that picture, I'm surprised the town hasn't told TH to do something about the chairs. Public sidewalk and a bus stop being impeded by vacant chairs.

The Township has more imprtant things to do like fix the horrible roads instead of worrying about a weekly beer line lol.

TH could combat that by telling the township that their sidewalks are not ADA compliant because there are trees and buckled brick in the middle of them.

How does it work when the line moves. If there's a chair ahead of you do you push it forward? Do you pull the chair behind you? I'm so confused about this phenomenon....

Is Tired Hands the only brewery where e line seems to be all empty chairs for hours? I keep seeing it mentioned here but nowhere else.

Empty chairs and an umbrella left to hold spots? WTF! This is ridiculous.

Release is held during the week, in the afternoon, while the Fermentaria itself is open = more (surrounding) activity leads to vacant chairs? On the contrary, morning releases perhaps permit more of an occupancy due to their being less activity, less places to run to and kill time? Hence, one could say morning releases lead to the bottle shares and sampling in the line?

Ya. Sure, Tree House has releases during the week as well, but it’s isolated (i.e. nowhere to run off to and kill time) + brewery itself isn’t open ahead of time. And yes, there are contradictions to this brief hypothesis: environment, city, suburb, folks…lots of contributing factors to consider

Seems like such a load of crap, surprised they allow this. If theres a line you should have to stand there. None of this place holder crap

I can't imagine someone walking up to wait in line not just going in front of all the chairs. No way in hell I'd stand behind empty chairs.

Tired Hands is taking a hands off approach on the chair thing (I don't blame them). They are expecting the line to police itself, and won't do anything about it until something happens. For the most part people in line are totally respectful and for the most part wait in the line, by there are definitely people that abuse the system. This is the only day that I can think of that has been really rainy for a can release, but the empty chairs have been a regular occurrence

I thought the same thing. It's probably very very spread out with all of the chairs. I'm curious where this line ends so I can go the right way after getting off the train. I'll be damned too if I get there at 4:30 and that's too late.

That was my experience the one release I went to. I went in not being a fan of the idea of the chairs, but I came out thinking it wasn't that big of a deal because people were generally cool about it. For what it's worth I got there at 3 and didn't bring a chair and only left the line for 2 minutes to feed the meter.

Anyone know what's up with that giant gap in the line with no chairs no nothing?

The people on instagram pretty regularly make the line sound worse than it is. I don't know if their intention is to scare people away (could just be pessimism) but I don't mind it. There are 140 cases and a limit of 2 4-packs so at least 420 people can buy it and I'll remain optimistic that this isn't crazier than previous Milkshake releases.
