New to Ohio (2016)

Yeah, they've been down here in Cincy for as long as I can remember. I actually didn't know they weren't state-wide; I wouldn't have thought that. Anyway, they do, in fact, make some some really solid beer. I'd say I buy something from Highland 8-10 times a year, and there's definitely nothing I didn't like.

 

@Keffa that ^ was an excellent post for someone who will be New to Ohio. And for someone who is old to Ohio too!

 

When I do posts of that nature, I try to give as much information as I can reliably do so, mainly because I like helping out the beer community however I can. Beer karma is most assuredly real, and I like being a helpful member

Here at Mother Stewart brewing company now space is huge plenty of seating beautiful beer garden ,TV,corn hole beer is very solid that I've had so far future looks very bright for this brewery definitely worth a trip if your in the area

 

Are there any local-ish Dayton BA's who would like to try a homebrew in early September? I'm going to be brewing a hazy IPA, and looking for feedback on it. Going to have around 6 gallons or so after yeast/hop loss. 1.5 lbs of hops in a 6 gallon batch, with over half of it hop stand and dry hop. Don't want to give out a lot of detail, but what I will say is Citra, Simcoe, and Galaxy

 

So this would be a beer that is "New to Ohio" right? Count me in! I'll bring some stuff to share too.

It's something that has been in my recipes for a bit that I've wanted to brew and I'll finally get a chance to do so. I'll be more than willing to share some to get some feedback on it on what is good and what could be better.

 

If you need any more places to go or know where decent beer/food is located let me know. I grew up in the Newark/Heath/Granville/Buckeye Lake area. I also managed the bar at Buckeye Lake Brewery and I now work at Three Tigers Brewing in Granville.

 

I would love to give it a try.

The "everybody knows who they are" comment definitely has me curious. Was going to guess Barley's, but I think that's in another part of town..

 

I was kinda hoping it was one of Jackie o's but "operating" takes that hope away for now..

 

IMO the only Cbus breweries that are ripe for expansion are Seventh Son and Wolf's Ridge.

CBC just recently expanded and Hoof Hearted doesn't seem to get a ton of business at their brewpub just down the street.

Time will tell...
