Other Half Brewing (July 2016)

I actually really liked the bottle of Flowerzzz I got. Perfect amounts of barnyard funk, tartness, and sweetness. Wouldn't mind scoring a few more bottles if they're still around for the next release.

 

If this is what keeps you up at night sure..

 

It's also the flagship because along with Forever Ever both beers are available for keg order every week (literally).

 

People keep checking in Motueka / Galaxy on Untappd as Mosaic / Motueka and someone even added the wrong graphic on there despite the fact that MoMo is it's own uniquely awesome beer and this annoys me immensely. That is all.

 

Anybody want to share their thoughts on Southerhopalistic? Preferably somebody who had it last year and then again this year, or you could just make up an opinion to share.

 

I rated it a 4 on Untapped on January 2, 2015. haha. Had it on tap at Astoria Bier and Cheese.

 

Really enjoyed this when it was first brewed. If u like Nelson/New Zealand hops you will like this. Haven't had the new batch yet tho..

 

OH has been killing it with these Southern Hemisphere hops lately. Haven't tried this new batch yet; but I'd be willing to bet I will be a huge fan. Anyone know if it's on for fills in the taproom?

 

It's on tap at three's for pints and growlers. FWIW I had a small pour and it was pretty unremarkable IMO

Edit: might just be for pours, not growlers come to think of it. I think they only do G's of their own stuff

 

I was pleasantly surprised by Forgot About Drie, and I've been pretty critical of OH's non-hoppy offerings. I was hoping for a little bit more of a sour punch, but I enjoyed it nonetheless

 

Was ACE on tap in the taproom? If so, is it available for fills?

Holy shit, I thought this batch of DMD was good, but ACE blows it out of the water. No wonder it's a fan favorite.

 

ehhhhhh...it's pretty clear DMD is the star of this release. DMD > ACE > MGN.

MGN smells and tastes like alcoholic bong water haha.

 

So you ended up getting some even without a wristband?

 

Wristbands were for the ACE cans since very low yield of cans. Some people got a four pack (with no wristband), after the limit was dropped to one, but even then, the ACE cans quickly sold out.

 

Yes that is what I was asking.

 

Yeah. They dropped the limit to 2 4packs when I was like 50 people from the front. Then again to 1 four pack when I was like 2 feet from the front. Sigh. Still delicious don't get me wrong but I do feel like DMD steals the show.

 

You must have been one of the last ACE four packs.
