Guess I dodged a bullet, my bottle was bottled on 10/10. Odd how one day off can make it safe.

Admittedly, their team of proof readers is more effective than the auto-correct on my cellphone. Doesn't change the sour taste AB/InBev has left in the mouths of their customers.

I'm glad GI is handling this the way they are. I hope that people aren't taking advantage of the situation by seeking refunds for 'good' bottles.

What are they doing about refunds for the people that live in Indiana?

Ironically I found a bottle of Regular on a shelf this weekend, 11/12 date. They also had the barleywine which I politely refused and informed them of the situation, of which they claimed to have no knowledge.

Do they keg these beers at the barrel facility? If they keg at the bottling facility, wouldn't both kegs and bottles be infected if the cause of infection was the tank ride?

Doesn't really matter, I'm just curious

I've seen a lot more regular on shelves lately as well.

Not sure how "valuable" it will be. I think most traders or people making purchases on the secondary market are going to be wary of any and all bottles for 2015 Bourbon County. As many of the posts here and on GI's FB page illustrate, there are bottles outside of the the 9 bottling dates specified by GI that people are claiming are also exhibiting signs of infection. I'm inclined to believe those people other GI because I was one of those people making "claims" early on when GI was denying and attempting to suppress reports of infection with regular Bourbon County.

Just because GI says that they don't have any conclusive results from testing of infection in the other bottling dates doesn't mean those bottles don't or won't have issues. Its basically a gamble.

And, while I'm glad to see GI FINALLY step up, I still take issue with the way they handled the situation up until now. Specifically, I think they could have asked people to hold on to their bottles sooner. If they were considering doing this proof of purchase method they should have told everyone to hold on to their bottles while they waited on test results to reveal which bottling batches they would do refunds for. They could have atleast given people a couple weeks of notice about it since they knew of the issue (or at least it was being reported to them) for over 3 months and admitted the issue when they did the podcast.

After leaving one of my beers in an oven for two weeks only to find it tasted better than one that was stored properly, I feel pretty damn good about what I have. (You can reference my little experiment in this thread for more detail)

The value lies in my ability to enjoy these beers for the foreseeable future. At this point, I have zero concern in that regard.

Hope you can find peace with your beer. Cheers!

Well none of my bottles are listed in the refund dates, so Im going to choose to hope that that means that my bottles will be fine ... Or they just haven't gotten to testing the batches after 11/5 (which is where all mine fall).

I have 3 cases of 10/26. Tested one out last night and couldn't drink it. I like theyre doing the refund but this will take an entire day to take pics of each bottle, and send in the label. Pain in the ass.

at least you're getting a refund? and at $15 a bottle for the refund, there is some built in $ for your time and effort (unless you paid $15 a bottle ... in which case guess you're SOL )

I had 14 bottles of bad dates, and I was putting it off all weekend as well because I thought it'd be a pain. It really didn't end up being bad at all, it was pretty easy. Especially if you think about getting back over $400 for yourself. It shouldn't take you much more than 45 minutes, so it'll be very much worth it.

Like I said I appreciate them doing that. If they would have made it any easier I'm sure there'd be people out there trying to screw them over and cheat them for refunds. I'm a procrastinator though. Anyone know if theres a deadline?

Haven't heard of one, but I wouldn't risk it. I checked all my bottles tonight.

It says on their refund site - I think it's September 15th. I was all about getting it in and done ASAP. They should have my info tomorrow, so I should get a check next week...right? :astonished:
