    First release announced this week.

The debut of a brand new IPA called Young Lions! Young Lions is a 6% IPA pale yellow with hints of orange juice in appearance. Hopped intensely with Simcoe, Amarillo, and Motueka. Very low bitterness, crisp, and juicy. Notes of melon, grapefruit pith, bright lime peel, passion fruit, fresh mandarin orange, with a subtle floral note on the aroma. This is a special beer for us for many reasons and we hope you enjoy this as much as we do. Shooting for approx. 220-230 cases. $13.50+tax per 4-pack. No Limit.

I did not see any mention of them selling through the last 14 1/2 cases of Master Master Shredder Shredder Sunday so those may also be available if they don't happen to sell the rest today.

Thursday (21st) is also their "Third Thursday" tapping too. "Jackson Flavor" Mexican-Style Lager. If the other release they are going to announce for tomorrow will also be in the double batch (180-200+ case) range I am curious if some people from out of town my hold off until Thursday to make the trip knowing Veil will tap a new beer as well as probably do Crowler sales? This may be the beginning of some weekly overlap of cans possibly having them re-evaluate weekly releases. Maybe smaller batches or even less completely new beers so it will have people buying up a couple cans instead of 3+.

There were still cans of Master Master on Saturday when i visited. I was able to try last weeks releases on tap as well. It was a great experience. Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

Hey, so quick question. I will be coming through the Richmond area next Thursday (28th). What day does the Veil usually release cans and about how early is the release announced? It looks like its a weekly thing, so wanted to see if I could grab a few while I was in town. Thanks! Also, besides here, any other suggestions food or beer wise?

Tomorrow's releases have been announced. Just 2 cans, which I think is a a smart move if they get worried about cans sticking around all week.

Crucial Crucial Taunt Taunt the double dry-hopped version of our beloved flagship Double IPA Crucial Taunt. Clocking in at 8%(as usual) this is hands down the most aromatic double IPA we have ever produced. Almost 7.5lbs per BBL of hops, this monster has a never ending flavor profile. This is down right insane! We almost want to keep it all for ourselves, but sharing is caring we suppose! Shooting for approx 180-190 cases. $17+tax per 4-pack. No Limit. 3D glasses included!

Can releases are always on Tuesdays. They typically announce the cans 2-3 days leading up to the releasing. Usually teasing with the first can and then the following days or so they mentioned the next. With them doing double batches the past couple weeks they have lasted pretty late into the week so you have a good shot of getting cans. Just have to wait until the weekend or next Monday to know what they have planned as well as how much.

As for food and beer definitely do yourself a flavor and head to The Answer AND Mekong. Both are in the same building (Mekong in front facing broad. The Answer around back) a few miles up from Veil. Same ownership. Mekong has amazing Vietnamese food and 50 taps. The Answer is their brewery and also has 50 taps. Both have completely different beers on draft (by design). Their Andalls (both places) are out of this world good. The Answer also serves very good food too. Both open up around Noon on Thursdays.

**EDIT: One thing I left out. The 3rd Thursday of each month they are starting to do "Third Thursday's" where they release the beer done on their Pilot system. July's happens to be this week (21st) so you're off by a week. Good news is the release is a Mexican-Style Lager so it's not like you are missing out on much. I don't expect the beer to be all that exciting unless you just get really excited about Dos XX, Corona, Pacifico, etc...

Nine (9) 4pks (not cases) remaining of Master Master Shredder Shredder going into today's 4pm opening. Whew! I bet Veil will wipe their brows when those are sold. Can't me mixing that week old stuff with freshies!

Definitely smart if they're worried about them sticking around. This is not the first time they've done only 2 cans of double batches. It IS the first time they've done that with no limit on release day. If they sell the same number of cases as last week on release day, these will sell out on Tuesday.

When they did CT/Idont only as double batches they sold about 340 cases total on release day, but it was a 1 case each limit per brew. They were entirely sold out by 5:10 on Wednesday.

I'm hoping they do not sell out, would love to bring some back. That said, I will be there next Thursday if anyone would wanna swap some for some Other Half cans just in case. The master master shredder shredder and crucial crucial taunt taunt all sound awesome from looking them up. Do they not usually do crawlers except for the third Thursday?

Crowlers are done sporadically, and most often occur on Saturdays when they open. This will be the first time they will be offering crowlers on a Thursday, and last week was the first time they offered crowlers on a Tuesday (both beers offered had been done on their 3bbl pilot system). Depending on what's released next Tuesday (and in how much quantity), there's a good chance cans will still be available when you arrive. Today's release will likely sell out before you're in town though. Happy to help with either release if you need.

When they do crowlers they're pre-filled and are first come first served, in case that wasn't clear. Cans are your best bet to get to take the freshest brews home. If you want crowlers, The Answer does them for all of their beer and their IPAs are top notch (different from The Veil, not to say one is better than the other).

The releases from today CCTT and Young Lions will definitely be gone but if you don't have luck here just post an in person trade and I'm sure someone will help you out. Keep an eye on their fb etc. for the release next week. If it's like this week (400 cases, 2 beers) there's a good chance one or both will be gone by Thursday. If it's like last week, 3 of the 4 cans released were still available going into the weekend. I wouldn't say "good/bad/no chance" until we know what they're dropping and in what quantity.

Unrelated to this comment - anyone have the new batch of MMSS that could say if they felt like it held up better than the 1st batch of MMSS? I loved it, but I felt like it had the fastest fall off of any of their beers I had. I was curious if the second batch is better - as in just as good yesterday or today as it was a week ago.

I didn't think b1 MMSS fell off, I drank them for about 3 weeks and they tasted great every time.

That's interesting. I felt like after 3 days it already had a different color and had lost a bit of the mouthfeel that it had on release day and by a week out it was a different beer, not bad but different. I wonder if I'm off base on this? Had one friend who agreed but that's an obviously limited sample.

Have not seen any line updates in groups I follow so looks like the past few weeks have caused people to finally realize there is no need to show up 3-4 hours early for these weekly releases when they are doing much larger batches.

**EDIT: Looks like someone was thinking of updating as I was posting. As of about 10 mins ago (2:15/2:20ish) someone posted only about 8-10 people in line.

Rolled through nearly 120 cases of Crucial Crucial in just over two hours. I figured that would go quickly, but not that quickly. When I was there around 430, most people were stocking up on that. I think Young Lions may last a couple days, but Crucial Crucial could possibly sell out tonight, or be very low at opening tomorrow.

That's quite impressive considering not many people showed up early plus that crazy storm that moved through the area shortly after doors opened. I figure CCTT would being going fast.

Now back to the regular scheduled programming of Veil selling through in a couple days. Sold 283 cases yesterday even with not much of a line at opening and the bad storm that came through. Below is what's left going into today's 4pm opening.

Young Lions - 104 cases (started w/ 223 yesterday) NO LIMIT
Crucial Crucial Taunt Taunt - 16 cases (started w/ 180 yesterday) NO LIMIT
