I cellar my beer it totes and have them stacked on top of eachother. I took a stroll down to the basement today and had quite a surprise. By some miracle the only casualty was the blue tote I store the 12oz bottles in. I was lucky enough to avoid a 'Disaster thread' and hope everyone else can be as fortunate!

Sierra box and green tote are full of bobmers. Blue tote has 12oz. Dont think it could have been any closer to falling.

Maybe a .99 cent tote isn't the best option in the future for stacking.

We buy expensive car seats for our children, whom we care about, but we leave our precious beers stacked in plastic totes? shame, just a shame.

    The Leaning Tower of Beersa!!!

That's a close call. You're ballzy for taking the time to snap a photo! I would have swooped in there and rescued those boxes, only to hold them firmly in my arms and whisper to them "It's OK, nothing can harm you now".

Speak for yourself. I spent all our car seat money on stainless steel, waterproof cases for the beer. Kids like getting strapped to the roof anyway.

Maybe its because we buy our kids expensive car seats etc that Trudeau89 might only be able to afford stacked plastic totes and the like. Having kids has ended my homebrewing and seriously curbed my pub crawling and consumption but that's life and fatherhood.

Car surfing is a necessity when referencing the skills needed in life.

But seriously OP, what beers were at risk in this nearly traumatic event? Anything that you would have wept for or knelt down to Zamboni off the floor?

Funny, parenthood has increased my beer drinking. What the hell else am I supposed to do when I'm stuck at home every night after 8:00?

That tote looks flimsy as all hell. Totes are meant to be stacked.. hence the shape of the bottom and lid.

That's awesome, your beer karma must be way up there because that case appears to be defying the laws of physics.

Usually a thread titled ``my lucky day'' has to do with someone lucking out and finding something rare. Yours was, obviously, different. That must have been absolutely horrifying for you :grimacing:. I'm really glad everything is okay :sunglasses:.

You know, it probably wasn't an accident. Beer sometimes can harbor strange spirits and mischievous demons. Your beers are probably feeling lonely and isolated in those totes and are letting you know they are unhappy. You should handle those bottles from time to time and make sure they know they're loved. Either that, or just drink 'em and grant them eternal happiness. :grinning:

Im sure quality control doesnt do rigidity tests with 3+cases of 22's.
They lasted over two years, but we recently started moving stuff around trying to clean up and they got stacked differrently, all the weight in one place. I dont know why we are examining the totes, Im just happy I didnt lose anything.

Might seem that way though my son did remind me today that 'There's only 7 more years until we can go to the pub together...'
All good things for those who wait.

That old Coke cooler on the right would be a much safer stash spot. Take out the top tray and you could stuff 12+ bombers in there. Those things are built like a tank.
