Not 1 but 2 boxes crushed my porch today! Quickly unpacked before heading off to softball (in 105 heat index weather - double header too!) And wow! What a box! **** later tonight when I'm back home (if I don't die in the heat)

I had a bit of a shitty day at work today, so it was really nice to come home and find a box from @Elkevjoe today! I had no clue you were sending to me because all of your hints were either super vague or you just saying who you weren't sending to (including letting us know you weren't going to send a box to yourself). First the swag: Willoughby glass with my apricot gose in it. Jackie O's glass with my Saison in it Cigar City Huna glass waiting to be filled Now the beers: From left to right: Perrin No Rules- Been a want for a while and I finally got my first one in a trade last week, so now I have a second one to age which is awesome Jackie O's BB Black Maple and Oro Negro- the only strictly Jackie O's beer i've ever had is dark apparition, which was great so I'm looking forward to these Brew Kettle Jackhammer and Tunguska- I don't know Brew kettle at all, but these look right up my alley Hoof Hearted and Jackie O's collab Koffury- Got one of these in a trade recently and it was delicious. very happy to get another Hoof Hearted Konkey Dong- been wanting to try this for a while. love the name Huna- permawant Lagunitas High Westified- permawant Willoughby Nut Smasher and Peanut Butter Cup Coffee Porter crowler- I've heard great things about both of these and very much looking forward to them Wolf Ridge Clear Sky Daybreak- never even heard of this brewery, so this is exciting for me. I love trying new breweries Columbus Bodhi- one of the few IPAs i've actually been wanting to try Great Lakes Bourbon Barrel Blackout- I've wanted this for a long time. we get Great Lakes regular stuff here and I like pretty much all of it, but we've never gotten this so this is really awesome Really really awesome box Elkevjoe! you, sir, may destroy my porch anytime you wish. I believe I may try to do one of the wrapped bottles later tonight. I will post it if I get to it
OK, here goes @Elkevjoe : so, first off, i like the wrapping. it definitely is a barrel aged stout. a little thin, bit of barrel and booze on the back end. doesn't taste like a beer i've had before. well, since Elkevjoe is from Ohio, and I put some Jackie O's on my wants list and they do some quality BA stouts, I'm going to guess it's something from them. No clue which one it would be, but that's as much of a guess as I have
In absentia is indeed awesome, it's from a pretty small brewery way out in western mass, but the quality of that ipa is at the same level as tree house in my opinion. Also, @Eziel the big wrapped bottle says sour, sorry for the bad handwriting! And you have heard of apricot stonington, it's on your wants list, cheers!

Sorry for the blueballs guys (and girl) - headed on a road trip to a beer fest this weekend, so last night was getting chores done and packing. Now for the pron! As I mentioned before, @MTKATL crushed me with not one bit two boxes! First up, some of the little guys: Prairie Pirate Bomb and BA bomb - wow! These were both want list beers. Super excited for these heavy hitters. Seems like Mike dug into his cellar for me! Creature comforts Bibo, automatic, and tropicalia and a cool sticker! Bibo and automatic are new ticks. Tropicalia is a repeat but one that is never pass up. Love awesome beer in cans. The Bedroom Brewing Co - Hop in bed with me DIPA. Took me a second to realize this as Mikes homebrew and not a new commercial brewery I hadn't heard of because the labeling looks so nice! This will probably be the next beer up for me when I get home after his trip Nib Smuggler - a great repeat beer, love Funky Buddah Next up: terrapin goodies Waken'Bake - awesome beer. Love those coffee stouts Jittery Joe's wake-n'-bake coffee - awesome combo! Coffee swag is the best swag! Terrapin glass - awesome shape, definitely a new one for me. Terrapin sticker - super cool, love the turtle logo. Already on the beer fridge Terrapin Watermelon Gose - new tick and looks like a fun one. Big beers/wrapped beers Wicked weed - Freak of nature. Yummy dipa. Wicked Weed - Black Angel. Woah! Generous add to the box. I had this at a share once and dug it, excited to have my own bottle to dome. Wicked Weed - Serenity. New tick, sounds delish 12 oz wrapped beer 22 oz wrapped beer - wrapped in a terrapin bag but with a handwritten note "note a clue" haha Wicked Weed - Oblivion. Another new tick and maybe on my wants list (should be!) Love fruited sours. Wicked Weed - old fashioned. I've seen people drinking this and have been curious, excited to try. Family shot: Wow, what an awesome box. Super thoughtful hitting some big wants, styles that I love, great variety, and awesome swag that matched the included beers really well. What a treat!
And a follow up post since that one was getting quite long. I added the two new stickers to my beer fridge. Terrapin is front and center! Had to break in the new glass with a proper beer last night too: Tasty, good watermelon flavor without being overly sweet and artificial like a jolly rancher. Finally, capped off the nice with a wrapped mystery beer. Pours a goldish amber color, lots of sweetness and spices on the nose. Sweet, vanilla, medium body with added lactose maybe? Lots of cinnamon. Tasted like vanilla icing in a cinnamon roll. Great dessert beer. Was thinking a terrapin beer but I know cinnamon rolled wake n' bake is a large bottle and this beer doesn't have coffee. Don't think terrapin makes a cinnamon roll beer, so I as a bit stumped. The unveiling: Funky Buddah sweet potato casserole! Awesome beer! Didn't get any sweet potato really but that is a hard flavor to pick out. The vanilla frosting was actually marshmallow. Great dessert beer and nice with some age on it. Funky Buddah does weird adjunct beers like none other! Thanks again @MTKATL!!
