Metro DC Brewery Discussion Thread

June 25th rolled in around 4 and they had crowlers pre-filled and there was no wait. Then a few weeks prior was a Sunday afternoon around the same time for Dunley and I believe Organge Starfish. You really never know it seems. That's the challenge.

 

The Bluejacket/Ocelot DIPA collab, Raised on Promises, is very nice. On tap now at both places. I'm hoping Bluejacket learned something about brewing IPAs

 

I showed up right at open this past Saturday for Johann and CoS, and I was about the 40th or so person in line. It was about 40-45 minutes total from the point I walked up to the point that I walked out with crowlers, for what it's worth.

 

No. The venue has to be a "Verified Venue", which Aslin themselves would have to work with Untappd to setup. There will be a small check mark next to their name when you use the "Nearby Venues" search.

Do you guys expect they will sell out of growlers before the lines die down? Obviously there's no way to know, but best guesses? Probably gonna ride out from the city with an expected arrival of 1ish but am flexible.

 

I'm probably going to be there noonish-1:00 tomorrow. If there are still crowlers, cool, if not, we'll be hanging around the brewery having a few on draft (assuming it's not TOO crazy) if anyone wants to say hi. I'll be a shorter dude with brown hair wearing a Tree House t-shirt.

does aslin release new stuff each week? i went there back in may and tried orange starfish, but there were no crowlers available. it was mid afternoon, so maybe too late? i am picking a buddy up at dulles next saturday, and was thinking about ocelot or aslin prior maybe?

 

Yep, you can follow their weekly releases on facebook. They are good about creating new events for each release to let you know which beers are available.

 

They have crowlers available on their release days (Thursday at 3, Saturday at 11).

For each their have a predetermined amount of crowlers - when they sell out they sell out, however as others have said up thread, they normally have more for folks who want a glass at the bar over the course of the next day (or few days depending on the beer)

 

75-100 at open. Not bad at all, its little swampy tho
