The bottle that I had gave me that not-so-fresh feeling.

Redlands counts as OC/LA right?
(I still feel that the IE should be included in the title but that's just me being nitpicky.)

There's still a lot of Accumulated Knowledge sitting at the Redlands TJ if you're ever in our area. Went to the BevMo in Rancho Cucamonga two days ago and they still had a bunch (a lot) of Framboise de Amorosa and a little bit over a twenty something bottles of Bretta Rosé left. I know someone wanted Amorosa earlier in the thread.

Anyone know of any Apple Brandy Noir still around? I was able to grab one bottle and it was fucking awesome. Need me some more of that.

I believe I grabbed the last bottle at Mr. K's (so I was told). If you find any elsewhere, please let me know.

Valley Bev just got some in today. Don't think it will last long though.

I would agree with you, except this particular incident doesn't quite fit that description. I happen to know the guy you mentioned. He just happened to be venting after dropping his bottle, which could've happened to anyone and definitely does suck. I don't believe he's one of the greedy truck chasers. GnD Liquor happens to be his local shop while living close by. And the four bottles he posted were probably from the online sales.

At the Cellarmaker event during LA Beer Week, I overheard a dude at HPB say that he "needed" at least nine bottles of FO. It's those sorts of people who are doing it.

I like your style. It's the same reason why I don't bother with the raffle tickets that some stores are doing (which btw is a good way to handle selling FO, IMO).

Time is more valuable than $, which is more valuable than beer. And it makes me wonder just how much time these hoarders spend chasing beer (whales, yes... but still beer).

You weren't trying too hard. There were at least 4-5 events during OC Beer Week last month where FO was poured, plus FO lasted through the entire 3-day July 4th weekend release.

BL obviously kegged a lot of FO. Keep your eyes open. It'll likely show up again.

Can't go wrong with $9.99 a sixer though.

All this FO talk, and to me...Ground State > FO! Am I the only one?! (anxiously anticipating onslaught of hatred)

It is the world we live in. There are BA's. Those of us that love that great beer that is available to us. So we can drink it and share it. Then there are BCB's. Beer Commodity Brokers, who's main objective to accumulate and profit from limit addition beers in the secondary market.

To keep perspective, we are surrounded by ready available, easily accessible, great beers. And as a BA, we all eventually get a pour of the beers we are interested in.

Don't let the BCB's get you down. Ignore their bitching. Their motivation is different than yours.

From a US beer drinkers perspective, "It is the best times, it is the worst of times".

I'm sure my comment will bring an onslaught of hatred as well, and I have not tried Ground State, but I will say that I was completely underwhelmed by FO. Had a bottle two nights ago, and while I did find it very good, all the hype had me expecting more. I would absolutely buy it again, it was very good. But it was by no means a top tier, perfect 100 beer. Not on the same level as many of the HF BA stouts I've had, BCBS and variants (not this year of course). I would have a parabola or eclipse over FO any day. Very good...not great.

Keep trying, you won't be disappointed. Bottle Logic is firing on all cylinders lately. But like all breweries that suddenly find themselves at the forefront of the "craft beer" hype machine, they need to figure out the best way to distribute their most sought after beer.

Everyone's got their own opinions but... Eclipse?

I have not tried Ground State either. But I was pretty impressed by FO. Liked it more the Eclipse. Would need a few more pours of each, to decide if I like it better than BCBS, both are excellent, but I am leaning toward FO. And I'll admit to planning on revisiting Eclipse.

But that's just my opinion, which is no more valid than yours, which I respect.

Nothing can live up to the "craft beer" hype train. It seems often these days people completely lose perspective because beer is rare.

I think those of us been drinking a lot rare beers and widely available great beers for a long time, find all this hype and beer chasing, entertaining, amusing, and silly.

I never lose sleep over the beer I missed, because tomorrow someone will be brewing something better.

I think the assertion is that they are so far apart that it's hard to consider valid. Kinda like if someone tells you a whopper tastes better than a double double.
