How were those Lucid Project beers?

Wet All the Way was probably my favorite of the day

Only had the Pinot Noir one, and it tasted to me like sparkling wine. The wine overpowered pretty much anything else.

    My favorites:
Citra hop and SOB from Dave's
    Three hour tour
    Surly Bretwagon
    Summit Stout/Porter
    Widmer's Marionberry Hibiscus Gose
    Town Hall Pumpkin lager
And many more I can't quite remember for some reason.

The cab/zin project tasted like wine. Not a fan

I'll second that, i had PT5 3 times with the last pour being very generous. 1414 or...wait, almost everything from CW was stellar...i think we were pretty much around their tent the whole day. Three hour tour was also great, as was Edmund from Fitgers. Delegance from DBF also really good. Great time in all, really didn't have any that i felt i should have poured out.

Would have been my first, too. That sounded incredible. Perhaps they'll be bottling that?... #wishfulthinking

That was quite possible the most foul beer I have ever put in my mouth. Tasted like industrial strength vinegar smells. I think would do a great job for cleaning windows!

I had the Lucid Guwersteminer wine project beer. Very interesting. Reverend Red was intense. Didn't care for it on its own, but if blended with another beer it might be really good.

I could not attend this year....what out of the multitude of new breweries/brew pubs stood out. I'm looking to try some new places this year but want to focus on the legit spots....not sure but sounds like that Smokehouse place in South? Minneapols is solid....also Excelsior sounds promising...I like Steel Toe already.....what else caught your attention from the newbies....Brainerd totally underwhelms me.....Leech Lake is much better but can be hit or miss and any place that uses one hop for every single beer pulls a red flag from me....??

I heard someone say the same thing over at Bell's.

Three of us had Barley John's Reverend Red as one of our very first beers. It was very tart but very refreshing. We all liked it. We had it again to close out the day at 4:50. It had changed noticelably. Aroma was pure vinegar and taste was just like the aroma - not drinkable. I don't know what changed over the 4 hrs, but we didn't imagine it.

Like I puked in my mouth, then somebody else puked in it for me again. Worst beer I've had. Ever.

    People like Indeed, try them.

Get the pitchforks out, but their stuff is not the hype train the peeps are chugging. The taproom is legit though.

Is anyone saying they are the greatest thing since sliced bread? I think they make solid beers. Day tripper is good and Fresh Hop was very good. I can do without Shenanigans and Midnight Rider is just ok. But of the new breweries, they are doing the best from the start. Will be interesting to see what they are doing in a few months and a few years.

Ticked 36 by my unofficial count. Played it smart, not forcing myself to finish generous pours and even asking for short pours occasionally.

    Hits:
Surly Cacao Bender: tasted like a peanut m&m
Surly Wet All the Way: seriously nice, but as one of my first beers, was tough to clear from the system
Surly Barrel-Aged Pentagram: shoutouts to Matt for the spot in line, Dan for the top-off
Pour Decisions Berliner Weisse: with raspberry, definitely.
Fitger's Spanish Fly: spicy/hoppy, the next en vogue combo?
    Indeed Fresh Hop: niiiiiiice
Flying Dog Barrel-Aged Gonzo: always stellar. I thought Flying Dog really brought it.

    Misses:
Surly Brettwagon: not bad, just perhaps not necessary
Barley John's Reverend Red: for the reasons above. I was sending EVERYONE to try it though.
Lucid Projects 1.1 and 1.3: if I wanted Boone's Farm, I'd buy myself some Boone's Farm

Really, there weren't that many disappointing beers.

They sell bottles at several shops in Duluth. I have a few in my fridge right now!
