No, it's not an IPA. It's a 'hoppy ale' that would have every other region in the country going batshit crazy over how good it is. Find it, drink it.

And while I'm posting...has anyone had recent batches of Breakside Wanderlust? Mosaic's are popping more than usual for me and transforming an already great beer into the top stratosphere of IPA's anywhere in the country.

Breakside IPA's are consistently great. Just had some Flagship on draft and enjoyed it mightily. Do you know if this collab is OR only or will it make its way up to WA?

Agree with you on Wanderlust. It's out of this world lately. Thought the collab was pretty good too.

I had Definitely Not at the pub last weekend and quickly ordered another pint of it once I finished the first. In this weather, it's just about perfect. Hits the spirit of NE IPAs but is somehow much more drinkable for me. I would not be opposed to this becoming a seasonal packaged beer from them.

+1 for the Wanderlust bandwagon. The Milwaukie local is no more than 10 minutes from my home, and I'm finding it increasingly difficult to drive through that part of town without stopping in for a $4.50 pint of fresh Wanderlust.

Had a pour of Definitely Not tonight, can confirm it's fantastic. The mouthfeel/body on it is killer. Walked away with a growler.

They didn't have any Wanderlust on tap, which seemed weird.

Where were you at? Was at the Milwaukee location and they had plenty of both. Got a glass of DN at Growler guys and could not agree more with your assessment. Quickly decided I needed a crowler of it.

Dekum pub; waitress didn't mention why they were out. I settled on a lunch break instead.

Looks like I left just before you got there. Tasty stuff indeed. (I am also bringing home a 4-pack of Sticky Hands which was canned less than a week ago. Because reasons.)

I had a 5oz. taster of Def Not Saturday here in Salem. I thought it was good, but the finish was too thick & slightly sweet for my tastes. I was hoping for a cleaner, brighter finish, especially for that style. I'll probably try it again just to be sure though.

And while we're talking about other Breakside beers, I wish Woodlawn Pale was around more often. Is it a regular beer at the pub or brewery anymore? It's been a while since I've been to either location.

I had a couple pints of this over the weekend down here in Salem as well. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought that I would. I get what you mean on the finish though ... not quite as crisp as I feel like it could have been.

As I just recently moved down to Salem from Portland I've been exploring what the area has to offer regarding beer and I had this during my first couple of visits to b2 Taphouse. Salem is definitely a whole different ball game when compared to the Portland beer scene. What a difference 50 miles can make. It kind of blew my mind to be honest. Seriously, why isn't there one above average (regionally speaking) brewery in this town?

It is night and day from Portland. I wish I could answer your question re: Salem breweries. My only possible explanation is that most of them are very young and maybe haven't hit their stride yet?
I just had my 6th anniversary of moving to Salem, and I can tell you that it's infinitely better than it was then. Tastes just seem to be evolving much slower than I'd like here. But that's also kind of ok, because when highly sought after beers show up here, they last days or weeks, whereas they go in a day or two in PDX. I'll PM you my contact info if you want to meet up for a pint.
