Hey there northwest BA's! Does anyone have any feedback on the more recent releases of Adam? I've done several searches on the site, but have come up empty. Anyway, I recently posted an ISO for Adam and was contacted by several BA's warning of the issues with some of the recent batches. From what I've been told, 83 was over carbonated and 86 was overly roasty. Sounds like 84 and 85 my best bet? Does anyone have thoughts on the later releases? It's probably a long shot, but are these still available anywhere? Thanks for the help!
Batch 85 is still on the shelves at local sellers, such as Fred Meyer, Whole Foods, New Seasons - as well as the usual bottle shops like Belmont Station. I have not purchased any *regular* Adam for some time so I don't have much info for you. Here is a thread on some vintage versions, but no mention of the last 3 batches: http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/adam-vertical-results.22175/ The brewery growler fill for $15 is one of the best deals in town.
Took a little searching, but I recalled writerljberg mentioning that the "recent" batch of Adam was one of the best HotD beers to date. Not sure if this would be batch 86 or the not yet released (in bottles) batch 87. Might be worth contacting Alan Sprints and ask what batch was on-tap that would coordinate with the date of the following post. http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/hotd-bourbon-fred-2012.27346/page-2#post-342399
the Adams ive been pocking up from whole foods are awesome, nicely carbed, delicious and not as "hot" in alcohol compared to past batches. surprise how well it drinks fresh. (or relatively fresh, as i live on the Yeast Coast.)
We're actually out of Adam here at the Station. We've gone through two order cycles from Columbia without it coming in, so I assume they're out of it until Alan bottles a new batch.
