Where are all the reviews for Rue the Crown? Anyone try it yet?

I was reading up on old info about Assassin/SR71 and there's a pretty funny post on another site where they go nuts over the fact that SR71 is leftover Assassin that should have been dumped and it clearly tastes like garbage and Decorah traders are the worst, wanting it to be a whale..

If only they could see that post now, with SR71 having far surpassed Assassin in taste, secondary price, and general whaliness.

Well, it "was Assassin's base" according to Mike Saboe's interview but it wasn't beer that should've been dumped...half fact, the other half was hearsay, or a rumor started intentionally for whatever reason.

I'm probably one of the few that disagree, I preferred the 2014 Assassin over SR-71.

How many different barrels of Term Oil are left? If King Sue is bottled Thursday/Friday I might make the drive with the wife.

I'm pretty sure they didn't design this with the intent to drink. It was just supposed to be a sought after beer that people would trade for, and then when they grew bored of owning, trade to someone else.

I'll go on record as saying MD is my favorite TG stout.

I don't know what's more funny in this thread: Listening to all you guys bicker about base beers and such, or how TG misspelled "assassin" in the last sentence - leaving out the fourth S.

Did they correct the 2013 label in 2014? Anyone have one to check?

Thanks. My statement is correct, which was my intention in this turd fest of a thread. There is no such thing as Assassin base beer. There are beers put into barrels that become lots of other beers

Was Regifter pretty much King Sue? I had Regifter only once, and it was a long time ago so my memory is foggy.

You guys crack me up... but seriously though, what's the base beer for Assassin? I personally poured all mine out when I saw the typo on the label - obviously if TG isn't able to have correct spelling the beer must be bad.

Sure there is. Assassin is the base beer for VB Assassin just like BCBS is the base beer for VR, BCBCS etc.

I do agree though, wha a turd fest.

The base beer for all bourbon county beers is Night Stalker just like the base beer for Assassin is Norseman's Wrath.

I disagree. Night Stalker and BCBS may share the same base beer, but I don't see someone heavily dry hopping a stout as night stalker is before putting it in a barrel for a year.
