I'm sure it wasn't the beer that changed in 4 hours, but rather your taste buds.

I will say this. No matter how much great beer I had, no many how many drain pours/slop pours I had. I will always go to ABR just to watch half the people make an ass out of themselves. To the woman who tucked her tasting glass into her stocking, then forgot, and tried to fight the guy who she was with for "you cant siphon me!" (yes, I shit you not) to the two guys who were arguing how to split the 4$ pizza from the Luce cart. Cheers to ya! I will laugh until Christmas just because of you.

This. It doesn't take long to get pretty lit up when you're sucking down that many high ABV beers. Comedy will result. Luckily it wasn't any hotter out, the combintation of the beers and the bright sun all afternoon kicked my ass. Was definitely sunburned and drunk by the time I left.

But like you said, it's almost worth it for the people watching alone. I'm always a bit surprised how well behaved everyone seems to be though, you have thousands of people binge drinking in a confined area. That being said, can't wait until next year.

Just before the cutoff, there was a couple walking arm-n-arm towards the exit. They stopped when the guy bent over to throw up, then walked about 10 feet before stopping so the girl could throw up, then continued out like nothing special happened....ah...good times.

As I was leaving I stopped at the front tables to wait for a friend. I set my glass down on the table as I texted said friend. I started to talking to other people that were also waiting there when my spidy senses started tingling. I looked down and my glass was gone. I looked behind me and walking out of the grounds was a drunk thief and my glass. I chased her down and booed her for her thievery. She thought it was funny, then 10 more people booed her. Drunk girls...

I was trying to figure out what was up with the Bell's guy yelling at a customer. Maybe around 3:00 or so? Didn't know what was going on there. That was about the only drama I saw, except for idiots trying to get their pints filled up. /eyeroll

I think my favorite pours were the Central Waters La Petite Mort (went back for seconds!) and the Town Hall Three Hour Tour. Outstanding!

eh, I had it later in the day as well and I dumped it - pure vinegar. I didn't try it at all earlier in the day.

Somebody was bitching (Let's call him Steve) because the Bells guy filled up somebody's glass when they came to the side table(The person probably was wearing a white Brewer/VIP wristband and didn't have to wait in line). Steve wasn't happy that the Bell's guy wasn't going to pour him a beer, he asked why he wasn't going to get a beer. The Bell's guy informed him that there was a line and that he would have to wait in it. Steve made a comment and then proceeded to walk away. The Bell's guy didn't seem to be happy about Steve making a comment to his back and then walking away. Bell's guy wanted Steve to come back and say it to his face.

That's how I recall it going down at least.

Agreed! Loved the 1100 and I'm glad I tried it early while my palette was in tact. I thought Fitger's in general had a really strong showing this year. Liked the Borealis and Bell's was great too, Hosolution and the Roundhouse were really good, hope to see bottles of those someday.

Want to give a shout out to Northbound as well, both were solid beers and sounds like they've got some great things to come once they open this week.

It tasted like vinegar all day. My special lady friend loved it. It was intense.

Mostly everything has been said by now, but you all need to hear my opinions too:

    The especially good:

    • Finally got to try Three Hour Tour - very nice
    • Dave's Brewfarm makes fun beers - some great, but all interesting
    • Fitgers Wheat Wine was my favorite pour of the day
    • The Great Waters(?) Brett B IPA was better than Brettwagon
    • Schells Nelson IPA was awesome
    • Pour Decisions Berliner - just a touch of sour and lots of flavor
    • BA Pentagram was pretty good - I'd love to try it again when it wasn't the 25th beer of the day
    • Many others - I'll stop now
    The not good:

    • All those timed releases meant everyone followed around the long lines. I probably should have just given up on a few.
    • I wanted Lucid to make a good beer, but those wine projects were bad.
    • Didn't enjoy anything from Borealis.
    • La Petite Mort - I wasn't to be trusted at this point of the day, but I dumped this one.
Overall, that was a great time and a lot of good beer. Good seeing all you guys!

Awwww, I never saw the Schell's Nelson IPA, I'd have liked to try that.

And I, too, am puzzled by all the love for Borealis. They're either going to a Jolly Pumkin-esque "all-sour" lineup, or the beers they brought were seriously hosed up.

I haven't the slightest idea why, but this post reminds me of one I left off the "not good" list. What was up with Brau's Porto? That stuff was bad.
