What does hype taste like? How about drink fresh, drink local. MA, we got nothing here. Nope, nothing.

Assuming you mean a beer not a brewery I would say it's easily G-BOT in Connecticut.

Here in Georgia, almost anything released by Creature Comforts. People go NUTS over that stuff. Hell their pale ale sells out quick.

Specifically, I'd say their Curious variants are the hottest. I think it's brewery only release, and tickets to the event sells out in seconds.

    It's a Belgian.

Abraxas by Perennial may be the biggest hype beer in Missouri. Maybe Fuzzy by Side Project. Both seem to disappear off of shelves instantly. Personally, I still haven't seen either one. I've heard rumbles that they exist and that they're damn good, but I cannot confirm.

I would agree. Union has other solid offerings as well, especially the Old Pro gose. RaR deserves the hype. Hyde, Over the Counter Prescription, Northeast Nectar, Reaper, 3870, The Blacker the Berry are all top notch special releases with the other special releases not far behind and only a couple that I would call good beers. Add to that the self-distribution of insanely fresh and better than ever Nanticoke Nectar and I completely understand what the hype is about.

The Bomb! variants are so damn good. Prairie has such a good BA program going on. Apple Brandy Noir this year was so good.

I'd say Derivation(any blend, really) has surpassed everything else in Missouri. Also, Fuzzy is brewery release so never makes it to shelves.

CT - Sip of Sunshine if you count it being brewed at Two Roads otherwise G-Bot

However the liquor stores will hide any new IPA and put a limit to create hype

Wisconsin would have to be one of the New Glarus R&D Sour Fruits. I tried to trade for them and dude said I'd need to pony up about $200 worth of brew since that what it was going for on some site where people sell rare beer.

As a Vermonter I would have to say Heady because of the way that (until recently) people would parade behind delivery trucks and wait in lines every week for a regularly released beer.

Hmm, haven't heard of that one. I'd chase it, but I still haven't seen Abraxas or Fuzzy. I know Fuzzy is only sold at the brewery. Shelves are just a manner of speech. Bummer that the rumors about Side Project entering the distribution game have been all false so far.

Derivation is an Imperial Stout from Side Project so of course quite limited. Each blend has different adjuncts, barrel type, etc. The only one I've been lucky enough to try is Blend #5 which was rum barrel with coffee and vanilla.

With Side Project moving into their own brewing space next year separate from Perennial, good chance you'll see a ramping up on production. No idea if that will mean distro though.
