Hermosa Beach/Redondo Beach

Hit up Select Beer Store in Redondo, bottle shop with 18 taps.

 

I don't know how often they receive the shipments, but try Total Wine's fridge section (back of the store) in Redondo Beach I believe it's close to King Harbor. I've been able to buy Pliny, Blind Pig, and Consecration from there.

Since you're already visiting Monkish, Smog City is a must stop as well.

Naja's Place on Redondo Pier. Cosmic Brewery is a new brewery around the Monkish/Smog area. Not much talk on King Harbor, but if your next to it then go for it. You never know. Up the way from Monkish/Smog is Phantom Carriage. Not bad. They have their own stuff on tap plus guest beers. Bonus-they do have food there.

 

Adam's and Select Beer are like 2 blocks from each other so make sure you check both.

 

I live in Redondo -- agree with all of the above. Select Beer, in particular, is a must with great tap and bottle selections, plus great staff. And it's easy enough to hit the Monkish-Smog City-(and then slightly further)Phanthom Carriage triangle via Uber or rental car. Worth heading over to Mediterraneo in Hermosa as well. Good food and excellent beer list. Local stuff's always on tap, and if you're looking for anything Russian River; Pliny, Bling Pig and at least one of the sours are always available.

 

Another vote for Select Beer.

One brewery not yet mentioned is The Dudes....just a few blocks south of Monkish. Worth a visit.

Why take away from valuable Monkish/Smog time?

 

I substitute Scholb instead of dudes. I liked the beers I had from them.

 

HopSaint's also an option, and they serve food.

 

The wife and I have been visiting Hopsaint every weekend for the last few months. The beer has really improved, food is pretty tasty, and they're very kid friendly.

 

Dudes has some of the worst beer I've had in a long time. I would rather bring a Pliny to an iron triangle bottle share, than drink dudes again

 

Do they still have Name Dropper IPA on? That was pretty excellent when I had a month back. Best I've had from them so far.

 

Had that last week really solid.

I've also enjoyed the most recent version of the Pure Intention pale. They are still playing around with the recipes of existing recipes....each batch is different.

 

I come to Hermosa every year for vacation, love Mediterraneo, great outdoor spot, excellent tap list and really good food. Will be there tomorrow, can't wait!

 

Figured I'd jump back into this one since HopSaint was a prevailing topic. Has anyone filled blank growlers over there? They're not on the large CA spreadsheet, and I saw them comment on IG that they don't fill blanks like early last year. Didn't know if something had changed, however.

 

I second Select Beer Store. Also Naja's is on the pier right next to a King Harbor tap room.

 

Answered my own question when I eventually got around to calling. They only fill their own, FYI.
