Cascade's The Vine is another white-graped sour, although a blend of white grapes. I would assume chardonnay is a large part as its an abundant NW grape.

New Glarus labels are notorious for providing inaccurate tidbits. I guess we have to think of them as folk tales, and glean whatever truths from them that we can.

    What are some other examples?

I know there was that one IPA they did called Scream and I don't recall it ever screaming at me when I drank it. Could be it

Nah, it's the Spotted Cow label he's referring to, everyone knows cows can't jump that high unless they're running backwards.

I've never been to a NG release, but am considering checking this one out. How are they usually run and how early do I need to show up?

They normally run incredibly smoothly, very efficient. As to timing, I would say no earlier than 8 is necessary at all, and every release of the last year (including Bourbon Bramble) has been available until at least 11-12, if not much later.

Of course, it's beer in 2016: you never know. Some people will be there at 3:00 AM for no reason.

^^^True story. I'll roll up at 9, be in and out in 5, then off to work. Unless you wanna bottle share and hang out, no need to get there at the crack of dawn.

Thanks for the info. I'll be coming from South Milwaukee, so if the trek involved getting up at 4am I'd probably skip it, but this sounds reasonable. See you there maybe if I feel like it. Lol

Anyone have some insight into Champ du Blanc being aged in Bourbon barrels or actually aged in a barrel that held Riesling?! Or just fresh oak barrels, I suppose?

I highly doubt it's bourbon barrels or it would say so. Probably wine or neutral American/French oak.

Jester King did a white grape sour (Blanc du Bois grapes though) that was phenomenal.

They have an allocated amount for each day so 100% it will be available Saturday.

Yeah, showing up a few hours early to crack some bottles is a pretty solid reason

It will last until 10 or 11 for sure, possibly longer.
