As far as I know MD is never barrel aged, it's just a pain to make because of the process so it's only brewed occasionally.

 

My understanding is the same as yours but many seem to think it's just MD that gets put in a barrel.

 

You don't think it's possible every time they brew MD that some without coffee goes into barrels? I'm not saying that's definitely what's happening but pointing out that it's possible.

 

King Sue is being bottled right now.

Sure wish they'd give out tickets and then store it for a week and create a complete S-storm for the release...

That is possible, I'd do it that way if I was homebrewing. With their size, I bet is has alot to do with space and the recipe and timing of things.
We have a stout coming out of a barrel soon. 10 gallons will get kegs straight up, 5 with vanilla and the other 15 will get 3 separate variants. Since @mrpeterandthepuffers is involved, there will not be peppers in any. Maple syrup and coffee will be involved...
Should be some ready for Darkness days!

How long does King Sue typically last when it's released? I'm coming out there next Friday but that's probably way too late. Anybody want some Trillium?

 

It was released on a Friday last time, and was gone shortly after opening on Saturday. So unless it's a MUCH bigger batch or they're limiting to half a case/person or less, not much of a chance to get any without trading.

 

I wonder if the bottle count is a lot lower for this release. I assume a fair amount was put in kegs for the Great Taste.

Nah, nobody missed it. They sent private messages, this is a TG thread, nobody unwittingly lays their nuts out on the dresser, they get bashed with a spiked bat... like BLLAAAAAAUUWWWW!

 

Looks like 300 cases at the tap room this morning!

 

370 including what they had left from yesterday, strong supply and a fun daytrip with the Non BA Chain Smoker Cycle collab smoked porter on tap in the taproom. If I didn't have my wife's parents in town in this weekend I'd be headed up today!

 

I went down. Chainsmoker is delicious. Smoke shows up when it warms, but I dislike smoked beers and this was great. Lots of King Sue, and the first 12 people in like also got the chance to buy bottles of 2015 Morning Delight which I'm assuming they all did.

 

I wonder if Term Oil is just as simple as unblended Assassin. Maybe they can't blend without Mike.

 

This is the second vague reference I've seen this week about Mike leaving TG again. What's up?

Rumor has it that he's gone and it wasn't his choice this time. Not sure if I believe it. I would assume he would get booted from the TG Twitter bio if that was the case but he's still listed there.
