1. Term Oil was delicious. I am yet to try the sought after TG big boys, and this left me wanting to even more now. Thickest, smoothest, tastiest stout I've had in my life (granted, I am more of a hops guy; I've tried enough to feel ok about my assessment haha... BCBS, KBS, Huna, etc).

2. I was lucky to get Term Oil before it kicked and also got a pour of the non-BA Chainsmoker when they switched to that. I am not a smoked porter fan, but it was super drinkable and really solid. Definitely try it if you get the opportunity.

3. If anyone wants to talk trade for King Sue, hit me up! Happy to share the love.

FWIW, Mike was actually the one who named many beers at TG. However I'm pretty sure that Clark was indeed the one who named Term Oil.

 

Was there King Sue left after the weekend?

 

SMH...No. Never mind that I know for a fact that KBBS isn't BA MD, but the size of each release alone should be a clear enough indicator that your scenario is folly.

You must have been there about the same time as me on Friday night. Went up for a case of KS and to try Term Oil... It blew (the keg, not the beer) and they put Chain Smoker on, so I got to try that as well. That's the first time I've ever had a TG stout, and it was fantastic!
Sat next to another dude from Des Moines, but didn't catch his name.

Apparently there are rumors that Mike left again.

Where is there any tangible evidence that Mike has left again? He just did that interview in the tap room he posted on Twitter.

 

This thread seems to rotate through between being educational and informational at times, to being entertaining at other times, to sometimes being the equivalent of getting kicked in the nuts while listening to a Cher CD on repeat. And the CD is scratched and keeps skipping.

 

I hadn't heard he left again, that's all news to me. However, I wouldn't be shocked at all if he is out again. There seem to be some compatibility issues.

 

I think the date listed for that interview was sometime in April, fwiw.

 

What are the odds that one of your 4-5 friends overlaps with his and is from Iowa? That would be a coincidence.
Also, I'm thinking of opening a brewery in town. Anyone know of a good brewer that makes amazing IPAs and Stouts? I'll be backing up the armored truck for him.... He has 100% control over everything too...

I'm sure we don't have the same friends and I can confirm that this "rumor" is 100% fact. As to why Mike or Clark haven't announced this publicly, who knows.

 

Agreed. I thought it was right on with the last batch.

 

New account, first post... I'll wait to hear it from Mike or Clark before I assume it's true. FWIW, the last time Mike left he changed his twitter bio pretty much immediately to say "former brewmaster" or something similar. That hasn't happened this time around. So I'm going to go with still employed until proven otherwise.

 

Actually, he didn't change it until Clark called him an asshole and told him to change it. I think we all remember that infamous tweet. Clark deleted the link to Mike's twitter in the TG bio immediately though.

 

Same with that @Fortheboards guy I responded to on Saturday. Pretty strange.
