I've noticed a lot of the beers on draft at the brewpub are cleaner and less hazy, just time sitting in the keg, or, different processes with the brewpub equipment? No idea.

Also, I just had Skin Froot at the brewpub--if you like your fruited sours to really taste like raw, almost underripe fruit, this is one of the most authentic fruit tasting beers I've ever had. Really tastes like fresh green mango, but not all that sour. Definitely can see it being a divisive one.

Anyone have any idea on the upcoming releases? Trying to gauge if I should go down this week or wait. Generally only able to make it down once a month.

They aren't using Brett in this beer. They state "the yeast formerly known as Brett Trois", which is actually now known as Sacch Trois. It was incorrectly classified as a Brett strain for many years, until White Labs actually got it tested, and it came back as saccharomyces. It gives off huge pineapple notes typically. Here's a link from White Labs: http://www.whitelabs.com/yeast/wlp644-saccharomyces-bruxellensis-trois

Burial collab is set to be canned next week.

South African Hopped DIPA "I'll Have What She's Having" is coming in the near future, per Instagram. Using African Queen (aka J17), Southern Passion, and new experimental hops. I found this link, which might be of interest.

From the above article about the hop growers:
“If you walk through the fields where we’re growing it you just smell passion fruit – actually a variety of fruit flavors, like gooseberry and blackcurrant aromas. If we kiln it we get that same aroma. It’s very different.”

Anyone notice that Green House Tavern in Cleveland is selling cans of todays Hoof release? Seems sketchy but I may have to go try one. Seeing plenty of checkins on untappd and some were from last night even before todays event.

Around the time of the South of Eleven release (the one before the last, maybe around Winter), they had started shipping some cannings to GHT. They do a Metal As Fuck dinner every year and I think South of Eleven was one of the beer pairings, but the Hoofy dudes like Sawyer and GHT (rightfully so) and apparently have a good enough relationship to quietly shoot some brews over from time to time.

I remember this yeast strain from another HH brew... not sure which.

In any case, this is a very good beer (no surprise). The yeast/hop combo does some weird things on the tongue. Initial taste is orangesicle and there is a hint of sweetness after lingering for a bit. It's more complex than I expected.

Burial Horchata Collab is to be announced on Facebook tomorrow. It is a blonde ale with cinnamon/vanilla added. It is called "Dancing in the Ruins".

Definitely a unique, complex IPA, straddling the lines between all the different classic attributes without being dominated by any one of them--not really fully piney or citrusy or herbal or dank or fruity, but kind of a mix of all. Simply put, very drinkable.

It's good, not great. Bartender said it tastes like fruit loops, wasn't far off. Very reminiscent of Wangbar and Jacuzzerooski.

Any idea if they plan on canning Skin Froot any time soon? I know it's been on tap recently but it'd be awesome if they canned it!

I think only 120 tickets available I think. Sounds like half is being shipped down to Burial or something. Too bad they couldn't limit it to 2-4 packs a person and gave out 180 tickets instead.

When Tickling the Ivories went on sale last Wednesday, they sold about 120 (had 280 left after starting at 400 available) before the count sort of steadied out. Not sure what the final number of tickets sold was though.

Pretty sure the count was around 210 sold Saturday (plus or minus 10). Not sure a blonde would fly off the shelves, but I think the low allotment guarantees they'll sell out. I think I'll pass for this release and save some money for that South African Hopped DIPA.

Has anyone ever had a beer with that south african hop in it? Just curious if it matches the description of it!
