Twin Cities Bottle Hunt - 2016 Edition

Call lake wine. They had some recently. Fwiw, I really liked this beer. Worth the price imo.

 

If you strike out elsewhere, they have them at the taproom still (according to one of their tweets from yesterday).

 

Just stopped, they had a few Citra Sours left. 10% MN beer too!
Watch out for the HWY 100 mess though.

 

Anyone know if we're going to see MN distribution this time around?

Asking for a friend, because I made the drive and got my 6. They have plenty left if you're planning on heading out today. Tomorrow might be a different story, though.

 

I would say no. Here's my logic.

1. Per the owner of Nova this morning, they're the only LQ store in WI that's getting a batch.

2. Per someone who went to the release party on Friday, TG wasn't actually planning to distribute any of it.

I think it's Hudson or bust this time around.

 

Still some bottles of WBC's Mo' Whiskey Milk Stout at the brewery. No limits now. I think it is well worth $10 a bottle.

Cellared bottles on the barrels up front at Lyndale including Starkeller, BCBS '15 with a warning, '13 Central waters BBS, '14 Rum King, Vintage Bigfoot, Vintage Abyss and some others I'm not remembering

 

Careful of that CW Brewer's Reserve Stout. The '13s had an infection problem

 

I am coming in from the DC Metro area and will be going to Surly straight off the plane and then staying in Brooklyn Center area. I have small kids and the boss is allowing only one stop after Surly for me to pick up beer.

Does Surly sell cans/bottles at the brewery?
Where is my best bet to pick up any Todd, Xtra Citra or any TG between Surly and Brooklyn?
Any other good local brews I should try that don't have distorted to East Coast?

No cans/bottles at Surly. I'd say Zipps Liquors is probably your best bet, pretty much on the way from airport to Surly. Load up on Todd and P'sue, and whatever TG bombers they may have. My other local faves are Castle Danger (Ode) and Indeed (Let it Ride/Roll) and maybe some Lift Bridge (Hop Dish).

 

TG Pompeii has been hitting stores this week, Castle Danger Double Crossing (check canning date), and to reiterate pSue and Ode are awesome. Todd is the best hoppy brew available imo. Zipps all the way! Otherwise South Lyndale on your way to Surly after the airport, those are two of the best in the metro.

Was there at about 11 today. There were about 5-6 cases in view. about 3 by the counter and a couple more next to the growler fill board. They got 70 total, so will likely sell out today.
