Has anyone made It over to the brewery for this yet? Just wondering what is the cost and how long it seems like it will be there as it will be a few days before I can make it there.

From the Book of Face: Allagash Brewing Company: $40 a case. The crate is a one time $20 charge and then you refill it at $40.

It's brewery only. Haven't tried it yet, eager to know how it is, though.

Same here. I'll be up in the area this weekend, and can hopefully get some. Can you only buy cases?

bought some today. wife and i enjoyed it with dinner tonight.

only sold by the case, but they were nice enough to pour some from draught so I could taste it before I put the $60 down on the crate + 24 bottles.

Refilling the case is $40 as previously mentioned.

I certainly hope it's there for awhile, as I'm hoping to refill the case at some point.

Pretty delicious and a great session beer... not bad if you split it between a few people. And just think how nice one of those cases would look aging full of coolships : )

I called them this morning. They plan on keeping it in stock pretty much year round, unless they ran out and it would take a few weeks to brew more. I asked if they would have some still by the weekend, and they didn't see why they wouldn't.

It's the best-value Allagash beer yet! But still overpriced! How do they do it? We may never know...

Seriously though, I will give this one a try sometime soon and share my unbiased opinion. Will it be on-tap in Portland?

My understanding is that it will only be sold at the brewery - both in bottles and on tap. Unless they've changed their policy recently, tap pours are only available if you take the tour, although they do make exceptions from time to time if the stars are aligned correctly.

Well hopefully some of the kegs will make their way to the better beer establishments in town. Though I do understand the concept of the "house beer" and that it should be "exclusive", I don't see any reason why this can't happen. Crowbar/Novare Res/LFK: Get on it!

Sheesh why can't they just put that beer in a regular 12-pack (or loose standard case) @ a good price & be done with it?

    Rhetorical question I know..... <groan>

So they will sell the case for $20 without the beer?

Everyone calls the bar LFK, which stands for Longfellow Knights. It's situated on Portland's Longfellow Square, named for Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. It's a good bar with a healthy beer selection, good turnover. A lot of the pours are Imperial Pints too, so it's a great value at $5-6 for 20oz of a good craft beer. Great food as well, sort of chic comfort cuisine. Cheers
