This may be a silly question, but do MD bottles get released at GTMW or at the taproom? And is it online sign up, lottery, or just FCFS?

Bottles are at the taproom. Kegs are brought to GTMW

Could very well be an assassin, KBBS and md release. I'm guessing since chai smoker was a colab it will gets its own release. All total speculation on my part.

They brew MD for great taste every year. Doesn't necessarily correspond with a bottle release.

Kegs probably from last year. I wouldn't expect to see bottles or a new batch if Mike is really gone.

In terms of the great saga that is known as the TG Thread...Mike was with the TG Crew at GT tent yesterday... Not sure if this means anything or not...

I heard a guy ask Mike, "how is everything going at Toppling?"... his response was, "ehh" and quickly changed the subject. Clark was at Dexter's Friday without Mike and it was the opposite on Saturday at GTMW. My guess is there is a little break going on.

What can a guy do to have the best chance of getting one of these lottery tickets (when/if they come)? I can't camp out at Decorah for a few months ha.

Oh, man...Now we are trying to gain an edge in getting a ticket for a random chance to get this stuff? When will the madness end? A lottery for a lottery ticket to get it?

Best bet is to keep an eye on Facebook/Twitter. The last MD release you had to be one of the 1st few thousand emails sent in after posted. If it's a pure lottery then it's all luck.

No ha, sorry. I'm just new to the game and have never done one before. Didn't know how "hard" it would be to get a ticket or how they do their process.

They don't have a set "process". Sometimes it's like MD where they announce on Twitter and then you have to send an email to sign up. For Rue the Crown it was a pure lottery only open to Mug Club members. In the past there have been silent releases for Assassin, KBBS, and SR71. They might tweet out that X is at the taproom or they may not say anything at all.

Clark was tweeting last night and a good contingent chimed in that the way they did MD was enjoyable and Clark seemed to agree, so hopefully they go that route again.

I was following that on the golf course lat night (shot 79). I haven't went back to read them all. Without reading the full context of each tweet, I didn't entirely understand how the most people would necessarily get to try it if it was tap only. Again, I see what he is getting at, but with 1 chalice limit, it makes it hard to drive several hours, so "more people can try it". I would assume locals and regulars would get to drink the majority of it with tap only.
Lottery works for me, at least I'd have a chance.

You'll never make everyone happy anyway, at least make it random, or somewhat random.

The email lotto worked great for MD which is fairly available throughout the year to regular visitors. Hope they don't do that for the BA stouts that haven't been around for a couple years. I liked Clark's idea to keg them. Plus, if Mike is gone for good, it might be advantageous to not have a bunch of year old bottles around for comparison with the first non-Mike batches.
