The whole bit of Fleetwood Mac is nice, but to know their rock and roll roots and legacy is nicer. I always thought Kiln House was like a revved up Buddy Holly

Hey BA, I wasn't sure if I was going to post here today but when I saw there weren't 10 reviews of this beer I decided I needed to review it. It's been raining here all day, but not like those poor people in Louisiana. I'm headed back to work tomorrow for the first time in two weeks. Well technically I've been working but I've been traveling for work, so that doesn't really count. First though, I'm going to do a little shooting in the morning. Hopefully it doesn't rain. I'm really worn out this weekend, and that's not a good way to start the week. Oh well, this beer should help. Do yourself a favor if you like Stone IPAs - grab this beer. It's delicious. My review for the Stone 20th Anniversary Citracado is below.

Poured from a bomber dated 7/29/16 (16 days old.) Pours almost amber in color with a one-two inch white head, which dissipated quickly leaving a ring and some small lacing. The smell is citrus, grapefruit, orange, and very pleasing. Not overpowering, but still great citra smells. The taste follows the nose but there is also some of that strong piney taste I would expect from Stone. There is a sweetness to it, but I'm not sure if it's the honey or the malt. Either way, it adds a nice element that's not excessive. The finish is slightly bitter and a touch dry. The alcohol is well hidden for 9%. The mouthfeel is very slightly oily and well carbonated. Overall this is a great IPA. It's incredibly well balanced. It is about what I would expect from Stone and is certainly in line with their other IPAs. Great pickup, if you get the chance.

Back with another from parish out of Broussard, Louisiana.
These are probably the only beer I've had from this state. And so far it's leaving a pretty good impression:wink:

I will say I like the song "Lanslide," but I'm referring to my singer/songwriter friend Stephanie's cover version she sometimes played live around here before she moved to LA (incidentally, though that song isn't on it, she just got her own Pandora channel; look for her under Stephanie Hatzinikolis if so inclined), a slow, vocal/piano only version.

I'm glad I noticed this - I didn't get an alert from the tag. Thank you very much for the kind words. I can't take credit for any info. I'm really just curating... skeptically looking for any info and trying to make sense of it. I'm also incredibly thick. I had a hunch you'd like it. I made an earlier post comparing the grisette/saison relationship to that of porter/stout - in that one term might be used today to signal a more authentic approach by the contemporary brewer. That idea is really about current marketing, there may or may not be any truth in this marketing, but this is all through a craft beer filter. I believe there's some truth () to my theory, but things might be different tomorrow.

    Cheers.

    That's really $12 per sixer?

As you can tell, I haven't gone out of my way for that since it's been a thing. Your review is pretty much exactly what I expected to hear about it, and I wouldn't sneeze at it for being what it apparently is - an inoffensive pale ale. Still, there's no way in hell I'm paying that for a sixer when I can get a sixer from Bale Breaker for under $9 that actually comes with some honest-to-god, real life, pleasing flavor!

edit: I neglected to mention it, but some remarkably youthful individuals need to remove themselves posthaste from the <expletive deleted> green colored region located to the front of my domicile.

IIRC, it's come down $1-2 since it hit the shelves. It'll stick in my fridge as "drinkin'" beers, until the other 5 are gone. Grab a single if you can. This beer is just cashing in on nostalgia.

No doubt it is, like anything saying Rainier. The difference is, bringing it back to the Seattle area is a neat trick to make it seem more "real" to some people, though I suppose actual living people in the region actually doing the physical brewing of it is something.
I will still try a bottle of it, even though it's really not much more than what I have referred to in the past as a beer corpse.

Just to make a little fix. (God Damn spell correct). The Beachwood beer is not named "Copernicus" as my post stated, but rather Hopernicus. And it's pretty damn good. Sorry for any confusion. Hopefully you'll hear about it soon from one of our Jersey representatives...I'm looking at you @SammyJaxxxx ...

I just had the same. Except I had to "settle" for the 22 oz version. I live 80 miles from the brewery but they only distribute the 22 oz here. I know, I know, First World Problem.

Yeah, I was thinking of you as I drank this one, wondering what the Schlenkerla fan would think of this mix of tart and smoke. For me it works well. And I'm not big on pairing food with beer, but even I can see how Gotlandsdricka would marry with some BBQ.
